BTDT MOMS ?????
Hello ladies my name is Nicole and i am reg. poster on the preg. board and i have a quick question for you!! Friday morning we are going to have our scheduled c-section at 7:30 AM now my question is in 2 weeks my students are graduating and I would love to be there, do you think at 2 weeks p.p. I would be able to walk with them, it is only a total of 2 hours then i would be back home....from 9-11 AM, (College graduation for disabled adults) my mother is willing to watch the baby but i am not sure if i would be able to walk, i did not know the recovery at all.....
TIA

Re: BTDT MOMS ?????
I didn't have a csection but can tell you that there were moms with csections walking around the day after delivering. Not exactly comfortably but it wsa doable. I would say as long as you can get a ride there (I think you may have driiving restrictions) & have a guaranteed seat for graduation, you should be ok.

Re: BTDT MOMS ?????
Not sure about C-section but 10 days PP I went on a job interview and got the job so I guess I looked pretty presentable
Ask your doctor about driving restrictions

Re: BTDT MOMS ?????
I had a c-section. 5 days PP I walked a mile. It took a while, but I did it. 8 days PP I stopped taking my pain pills. 2 weeks PP I moved apartments. So I think you can definitely make it to a graduation.
My only suggestion, is the day they remove the catheter- walk around. I started walking around the maternity ward minutes after I could. Every day I walked around to build up my strength.

Re: BTDT MOMS ?????
I had a c-sect 4 weeks ago. By 2 weeks, I felt pretty good, and walking was no problem at all. I would just wear comfortable shoes - no heels...

I think you'll be fine. I agree about getting a ride though to be safe. Will you be BF or FF? That might be a factor to consider as well.

Re: BTDT MOMS ?????
You should be ok. You will need someone to drive you, wear comfy shoes (my feet were very swollen when I came home from the hospital and by 2 weeks they were almost back to normal)
Everyone recovers differently but you should be ok to go.
Good Luck Friday!!!!!!

Re: BTDT MOMS ?????
5 days post c-section I went to babies R Us and 7 days post c-section I came to work to finish up some stuff i needed done. I would say you should be all right but take it easy. I pushed myself both times and you get really worn out quickly, but it's definately doable.
Good luck!

Re: BTDT MOMS ?????
I was up and around the day after the c-section. I'm now 2 weeks pp and I'd rather be up walking and doing things and I want to get back on the treadmill tonight. I find that when I don't do anything the incision area gets stiff, but when I'm up and around, it feels good. Everyone has a different recovery, but I don't see why you can't.

Re: BTDT MOMS ?????
You should have no problem. I agree that it's a good idea to get out of bed asap. My c-section was at 10:22 pm and I was up by 2 pm the next day. And I had lost alot of blood due to a complication. You should be fine by 2 weeks. I was still not allowed to drive though, so you may need a ride.

Re: BTDT MOMS ?????
Nicole - I was on the preggo board a short time with you and I remember some of the stuff you had to go through... I am SO GLAD to see that you are going to be a Mommy this week!
With my C/S I tried to walk as much as I could. 2 weeks PP you should be okay, but make sure you have somewhere to sit if you need to and don't push it. Good luck to you and for your students! I bet they will be so happy to have you walking with them!

Re: BTDT MOMS ?????
Nicole - I am 3 wks post partum and I just began walking everyday for a few miles - I started walking at 2 wks though - I think you can totally do it - esp. since I know as a teacher you have been on your feet throughout your pregnancy - my advice - don't walk too fast, your incision may start to bother you if you do so - but as long as you are strolling and wearing comfortable clothes, there is no doubt that you can do it!
BTW - I can NOT believe this - this is my 1st post answering a BTDT mom question!!!!

Re: BTDT MOMS ?????
I think so. 3 days after I got out of the hospital with my first C-section, DH and I (unfortunately) had a funeral to go to. I was out for pretty much the entire day and I was perfectly fine.
