BTDT moms labor questions???

Do you always loose your mucous plug before you go into labor???

I haven'nt lost mine yet but I had a bunch of contractions last night and today I have been crying uncontrollably for no reason at all ( VERY UNLIKE ME)...... I also feel "off"


I think I'm having more contractions today.... they just aren't strong....


I just thought I would have more physical signs before going into labor....

Maybe this is just prodromal labor???

I lost mine a few hours before labor started. I don't think you have to lose it before labor though. Good luck!

I never lost mine the last time but lost it yesterday with this pregnancy. I don't think everyone sees physical signs- I was induced with my DD but when I got the hospital and they hooked me up, they said I was in pre-term labor already. I had no clue.

I lost mine bit by bit over the 2 weeks before I went into labor.

The day I went into labor I was having a very hard time walking (we went walking in the woods like usual, but I just couldn't keep up and my back was killing me). I was also tired and just off all day long and getting really bad lower back pain (I ended up with back labor). I tried going to bed early, but couldn't sleep through the pain and then, I started to develop flu-like symptoms -- at the risk of TMI, my body just started naturally flushing out. I was in full-blown labor at around 3:30 am.

That's how it was in retrospect, but the day of, I honestly had no idea my body was gearing up for labor and I would be giving birth the next afternoon.

My advice is to get some rest. I'm so glad I took a nap that afternoon because I went into labor that night, didn't have the baby until the next afternoon and got no sleep for over 24 hours. Good luck!

A friend of mine never lost her plug and her water never broke (on its own) so it's possible that you could be starting labor. good luck!!!

you definitely don't have to lose your plug before going into labor. it's also possible to lose it in teeny fragments over weeks and never even realize it (especially if it's mixed with other CM).

No signs what so ever...never lost my mucosu plug, never broke my water...

I lost mine at the same time my water broke but I know there are planty of people on here who did not lose theirs

I didn't lose mine with DS#2 until I was already 4+cm in the hospital. With DS#1 we did the deed and I started to bleed but didn't lose the plug until in the hospital.

I'm still here.....

Felt like garbage all day...... Cryign for no reason and just feel "off"...

I've been having contractions but no regular pattern, they come anywhere from 8-15 minutes.... I'm figuring this is just prodromal (Practice labor) I know I can go on for weeks like this so I guess It's just wait and see!

I had that "off" feeling the day I gave birth. Something was just strange - but it wasn't anything specific.

I think you're just about ready - and your body is starting to prepare you.

As for the crying...I started the day I gave birth...and I haven't stopped since!

I never lost the plug, but my water broke on its own, so my plug may have been somewhere in that mess...

I never noticed loosing mine and my water broke so you could have lost it without realizing it and without any blood.

I lost my MP so slowly probably over almost 3 weeks! My water never broke tho

with my last dd it didnt come out until the afterbirth came out The doc laughed and said "oh look there is your mucous plug , I guess it didnt want to come out first!"

you don't always lose the plug...sometimes you lose it in the shower and you never even notice it...hope your contractions are a good sign that labor is around the corner!!!

I did not lose my plug, nor did my water break with G.

(I also just found out in talking to my mom that she never lost her MP or had her water break with any of us, and she had 3 natural births).

If the contractions become rythmic and timable, or can knock the wind out of you, call your labor team
