Questions to BTDT moms who send their infants to day care all day
How many bottles do you send in with your baby?
Cailen will be 8 wks when he starts. He eats about every 2-3 hours and may be at day care up to 10 hours (I am going to try to avoid that at all costs - but some days I may have no choice)
Should I send in all 7 4-oz bottles I have? I don't want to send in too few - I know daycare wont mix the formula, I'll have to do it myself - do you think 7 would be good?

I think that sounds like too many. If he eats every 2 hours, that would be 5 bottles in 10 hours (worst case) and I would throw in an extra. So maybe six? I would try that first and see how it goes.
Also, he might start eating more than 4 ounces at 2 months. Are you going to go up to bigger bottles or have them use two bottles per feeding?

Liza.. I worked in a daycare center for 5 years when I was in college.. Some moms would get one of those plastic tupperware containers and bring that in with the formula and then we would fill up the bottles as needed. This might be better for you instead of lugging all of those bottles in every day.

With him eating 2-3 hours and there for 10 hours, I would opt for 6 bottles.
Eventually he'll eat less frequently & more but you should always leave an extra bottle in case someone gets tied up at work.

I sent the amount of bottles DD would eat in the period she was there. I always had an extra can of RTF formula with an empty bottle just in case. That way it didn't go to waste if she did not need it.
