BTDT Moms of Girls - Bangs or no Bangs?
She's had a few haircuts so far and I was hoping not to get it cut again until October but it's growing a lot.
The hairdresser convinced me not to cut bangs that last 2 times bc I would totally regret it, so she cut soft wispy ones that are totally overgrown now. I always have to put her hair up in a waterfall or other concotion and I would love not to have to do anything sometimes and just have her wear it down. Her hair is very fine and a little wavy.
BTDT moms of girls - should I cut bangs? More than what she has.
This is from today - her bangs are pretty long and starting to get in her eyes.

I don't do bangs because they grow so fast and I don't trust myself to trim them straight, and am too cheap to keep bringing her for trims.
So I vote no bangs because I'm cheap and inept.

Re: BTDT Moms of Girls - Bangs or no Bangs?
My personal preference for my DD is no bangs. I pull it up in the waterfall and it's finally long enough for a single ponytail if I do it when her hair is still damp. My reasoning is that it may be a PIA to maintain the bangs (get them trimmed more often than I do haircuts now -- I'd be afraid to trim them myself.) I can never leave her hair down. It looks too wild. I'm starting to think she needs a style and then I'll be able to leave it down. next time i take her for a haircut I'll ask about that. For your DD, I think bangs would look very cute, and it sounds like you really want them. I just wouldn't cut big bangs that overpower her beautiful face. It looks great the way it is to me. Did she say why you'd regret the bangs? How long did it take for the wispy ones to grow in?

Re: BTDT Moms of Girls - Bangs or no Bangs?
DD has curly hair...and her hair was in her face all the time, unless I pulled it up...which she hated....
I felt at this point, that bangs were the best option...when she's a bit older, if she would leave a clip alone in her hair, we can grow them out.... Image Attachment(s):

I feel the same exact way. Right now Kaydyn's hair it soo short for one big ponytail so she's got the waterfall thing going practically every day
I'd say if you're willing to keep on top of it and get her hair trimmed every couple of weeks then go for it. I think bangs look so cute on girls.

I love DD in bangs. Yes we go every few weeks for a trim, but my gf does it for free so it's no big deal.
Not the best pic, but you can see her "tails" and her bangs. Image Attachment(s):

Lily has a good-sized forehead, so I give her bangs. I trim them myself every few weeks, so it's not a big deal. She actually has never had a haircut....

Bangs definitely They're so cute and really not hard to keep up with. AND we actually take dd to the barbershop to trim them for like only $3.

DD has wavy hair, when I took her for a haircut they recommended against bangs since they wouldn't stay in place.
I love the look of bangs, but I don't think they would work for DD (yet).

I personally am not a fan of bangs on little girls. I think it comes down to personal taste. Chose which you like the look of better!

dd hasnt needed a haircut yet but this is how her hair looks... i guess she has "natrual" bangs (if you look at my avatar pic you can kinda see them, i usually push them to the side). if it came to a time where for her to have bangs id have to bring her in for haircuts all the time, id probably nix them... who has time for that? lol

Re: BTDT Moms of Girls - Bangs or no Bangs?
My DD has always had bangs but they got so long and she doesn't want to cut them. So for the first time I am considering no bangs. I have always had bangs so that's partially why it seems the natural progression to give my DD bangs. We'll see...

I have a strong preference for no bangs, in general. So that's my vote.

Re: BTDT Moms of Girls - Bangs or no Bangs?
I think she would look adorable with bangs, I'm not set against or for bangs, I think its what works for your DD's face, and I think she would look adorable with bangs, as for the upkeep I can see it being a PITA....

I love bangs. She hates ponytails of any kind and she only wears clips for a short time.

Chelsea has bangs. At first I wasn't going to do it but they look so cute. I trim them myself every couple of weeks when she can't see anymore.

Re: BTDT Moms of Girls - Bangs or no Bangs?
I am a hairdresser and a mom of 2 girls. I am not a fan of bangs. They need to be cut every few weeks. As my girls hair was filling in from baby hair they both had bangs for a few haircuts. As soon as they were at an age that they did not pull out their ponytails, we grew them out. DD#2 is not quite there yet. Although, when they have no bangs you usually have to tie their hair back.
