BTDT Moms- Packing school lunches
DD is going to first grade and I have to send her with lunch. I'm wondering if the moms who've been there can tell me how they pack/organize everything. I was looking at bento-box type containers and DH wondered what was wrong with wax paper. So how do you pack your kids' lunches?
I saw these and was thinking about them:

BTDT Moms- Packing school lunches
That's what I use and it worked great. Kept everything separate and it was easy to open. The only issue I ran into is that some of the lunch boxes are not big enough to hold this. I had the pottery barn lunch boxes and it jusssssssst fit.

Re: BTDT Moms- Packing school lunches
What kind of lunch bag do you have? I didn't love the bento boxes. Spills etc.and it didn't fit a drink with the box. I LOVED the rubbermaid lunch blox. I had the sandwich kit.
It comes with a square box (sanwich size could use for sandwiches/salads/entrees), one longer on and two tiny ones. It comes with a square ice. The containers can snap onto the ice in various combinations. The two small and one long thing can snap onto the top of the square container depending on the bag.
I liked that the small ones could be used for anything from a whole hard boild egg (just fits perfectly in it) to grapes, or balls of melon or berries, I also put salad dressing/ketchup/hummus in them.
The longer one could fit anything from baby carrots, pineapple spears, to rolled up meats. You can also separate them and pack them in a way that fits your lunch bag. The ice is also thin so it doesn't take up a lot of space and can snap under or over the containers.
Btw they are bpa free and while I handwash and never use plastic in the microwave they do say freezer/dishwasher and microwave safe

They are from Amazon, I don't have a lunch box yet so I don't know.

I was also looking at the Rubbermaid Lunch Blox- I liked the ice thing. Was that one big enough for your kid? I was looking at the entree kit (also on Amazon if anyone's interested.) because the lunch one seemed too small. I think she needs to bring an additional snack with her.
Here's the entree kit.

I have the Rubbermaid lunch blocks too, it's the perfect size! I use the Small ones for cheese cubes, small crackers, fruit etc. the sandwich box is perfect and keeps the sandwich from getting squished.
