BTDT Moms- Registry Qs
So, this is my first pregnancy and I started registering for the bigger items (strollers, carseats, PnP, etc) which I did my research on and then looked at each in person.
Now I am going back this weekend since we found out we are team to register for all the other stuff!
Few questions: I am due April 3rd- what types of pjs and outfits should i register for for the first month or two? footies? longsleeve/longpant footless? shortsleeve? a mix of all?
Also- there is a box of 216 count pamper swaddler newbaby size 1 diapers for $41...Dh wants to put it on the registry..is that too many? Will the baby grow out of that size too fast for me to use them all? What if pampers doesn't work out for us?
How did you know which bottles to get? I definitely want to try to breastfeed. My mom wasn't able to with any pregnancy- no milk. So far, my pregnancy has been exactly likes her to the T. I want to register for the pumping supplies and all that, but I also want to make sure I have the formula stuff just in case.
I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed!!

size one is bigger than newborn, so youll definitely get to use all of them.
216 diapers may sound like a lot but its probably about 3 weeks worth.
For PJs - get the gowns!!!! Its easier for middle of the night changings so you dont have to undress the baby completely and wake them up.
As for bottles, its hard to say each baby is different. We used the playtex drop ins and DS loved them.

Re: BTDT Moms- Registry Qs
For pj's, that's tough b/c you don't know if your baby will like to be swaddled at night or not. DD hated it, so she was in feetie pj's since basically day 1. We also sometimes put her in a long sleeve onesie with a sleepsack. We live in FL but we always have the CAC on so she's always in something long sleeve at night.
As for the size 1 diapers, I think we went through a few boxes of that size. I'd register for it.
DD is EBF but she gets pumped milk from a bottle while i'm at work. We tried several bottles before we found one she liked. We got a born-free starter set as a gift and haven't used it yet! DD hates that bottle. She only likes the Playtex Drop-Ins.
Try not to stress, anything you need once you get home with the baby someone can run out and get.

Re: BTDT Moms- Registry Qs
You can't go wrong with Size 1 diapers. If you go on Diapers.com you can get Swaddlers in the in-between sizes (1-2 and 2-3) which I LOVED. They fit so much nicer on my DD then the 1's or 2's. For PJ's I would get the lightweight zip up "feetie" PJ's with long sleeves. My DD lived in those!! (She was born at the end of Sept.) Get the lightweight Halo Sleep Sacks for bedtime. My DD hated to be swaddled so those were a godsend. Kept her snuggly but left her arms free. I LOVE the Playtex Drop Ins!! They are SO easy to clean, just pop in a liner in and go. We started out with the Born Free bottles but they were a PITA and we stopped after a few weeks. My other suggestion is to get a really nice size diaper bag with LOTS of storage compartments. You won't believe how much stuff you will have to bring out with you and it seems to get worse as they get older!! Congrats and have fun registering!!
EDIT - Don't go crazy buying all the stuff for BF'ing. Wait and see what happens. I bought so much stuff and I had a hard time BF'ing because of low milk supply so there was a lot of things I didn't need. I did use the pump to try and get more milk out but aside from that I didn't need all of the other BF'ing supplies that I registered for and got. Within 6-7 weeks my DD was exclusively on formula.

DUH! I figured it meant something to the extent that baby was ONLY breast fed and nothing else, but I couldn't figure out what the "E" would stand for! LOL Thanks!

exactly what I was going to say :)
my 6 week old is in ones and has been for 4 weeks.... so its a good starting size
I LOVE the gowns, ones with the cuffs the best so she can't scratch herself, cause we couldnt keep the mittens on for anything :)
Drop ins are the only thing that DD doesn't throw up from :)

Re: BTDT Moms- Registry Qs
My opinion on registries - I didn't put clothing or diapers on my registry. I don't know if you are expecting a lot of people but I would rather people buy me the bigger ticket items than diapers where I can shop around for, like Walmart. Clothing, people buy you a ton anyway, and whenever I would try to buy clothing off of a registry as present, it was hard to find, or they had changed seasons already. If you are expecting a ton of people and need to add more gifts than I would add those items after I saw my registry was getting short on presents. The only clothing items I did register for from the start were basic onsies and side snap shirts, mittens, and swaddle me's. Bottles - I would pick 2-3 types and put small sets of each one with the matching nipples, etc. (It was confusing for me to figure which ones, but you'll figure it out.) What I did after DS was born, was go back and add things to my registry online, and send DH back to BRU with the gift cards we received when I figured out what I actually really needed. He was great! HTH

Re: BTDT Moms- Registry Qs
I had an April baby and I used nothing but zip up footy onesies for the first couple of months. The zip up are so much easier than buttons/snaps (especially when you're half asleep and trying to change diapers).
Size 1 diapers you will need a lot of, so 217 count is not that much. Have a package or two of the Newborn size and you can always buy more if you need them.
As far as bottles, it's hit or miss I guess. We used Born Free from day one and stuck with them throughout.
Lots of luck to you!!!
