BTDT Moms: Winter Coat Help for 8-13 month old...

DS is 6 months old. So he'll be 8-13 months for the winter.

I was considering the Gap warmest Jacket and / or snowsuit...

Also, I live WAY upstate and it is COLD and SNOWY all winter Chat Icon Thanks in advance!!!

Edited: Okay - I just saw a lot of posts saying not to buy anything bulky... But what if you live somewhere REALLY cold? It literally snows almost every single day where I live. I couldn't imagine just putting a sweatshirt on him and putting him in the car.

I would personally get both a coat and suit. The suit is great when really cold and snow of course but the coat will work when it is getting cold, or a quick trip to store and as spring comes.

ETA: And if only want to get one why not the coat and a pair of snow pants(overalls)

My DS will be the same age as yours. I'm planning on getting both a jacket and snow suit. I have no idea what to do about a jacket, because most of them are too bulky for his car seat.
Is that snowsuit from the gap? Its cute!

I guess you could get the jacket and let him wear it to the car and then take it off. Then put it back on before you get out of the car. I know, sounds like a PIA.

We had the Gap warmest jacket last year and it was great. I think it may still even fit at least in the beginning of winter this year.

Can you do both of them? I would get the snow suit for 8-10 months and then the winter coat for 11-13 months b/c you will likely need two different sizes. We did a slightly thinner bunting style and lots of blankets. As for the coat I got DS the warmest jacket for the first time this year. Previously, we had a different slightly thinner coat with blankets. It was a thinsulate coat, like the warmest jacket. I think the warmest jacket is a little bulkyier.

I would get him something like this for the car. I think this should suffice for to and from the car without having to take him out of anything.

And then also get him a regular winter coat/snow pants for when you actually spend time outside. HTH! Chat Icon

If you think the jacket will suit your needs, then get it. But be prepared to take it off and then put it back on again when getting in and out of the car.

Found this online. I am thinking about buying this. A bit pricey, but I think baby will be warm. It's called the babba cover.External Image
