BTDT Mom's.. winter gear for infants???
What did you do? A big old zip up snow suit thing? A winter jacket? Do they make mittens that little.. LOL.. So clueless over here!
We don't use an infant carrier seat so one of those snuggle things won't work for us.
DS is almost 4 months now. So he will be 7 months in December.. I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Last Winter Kaydyn was still in her infant seat...but we weren't carrying it in and out of the house.
We put her clothes or PJs on, then a jacket then wrapped her in a blanket. We still had the buncle me on her car seat in the car.

Re: BTDT Mom's.. winter gear for infants???
My DD was about a month older than your DS, but we had a winter coat and a one piece snowsuit. Honestly, we only had both because my mom is a purchaser for a few children's clothing lines and her friends give us great deals (wholesale) on awesome brands...if I was buying it for myself, I would have a coat and maybe snowpants that matched, but honestly, she didn't really wear the snowsuit except for 2 times that we brought her out in the snow to "play". She did wear her coat all the time though, since I moved her out of the infant carrier early in the winter. I had a few hats and mitten sets, but she rarely wore the mittens because they were hard to get on and she always got them off. Buy hats early because they are hard to find once winter is here!

Regardless if you use an infant carrier or not, you may want to look into using a Bundle Me on DS' stationary car seat. It is unsafe to strap him into a car seat while wearing a bulk coat. There was a great video about this going around... I'll try to find it for you. I would get him a toasty jacket, hat (with ear flaps) and mittens for playing outside, and a snowsuit if he is gonna be playing in the snow. When taking car trips, I would take his coat off in the car and put him in the carseat with the Bundle Me. The carseat straps will be closest to his body and in the event of a car accident (God forbid!) the coat will not decompress allwign space between his body and the straps.

Re: BTDT Mom's.. winter gear for infants???
DS was the same age last winter and he was usually in a coat, hat with ear flaps, and mittens.
We had a one-piece snowsuit for super-super cold days but I don't recall using that too much.
We used the bundle me in the stoller only (never in the carseat).

Re: BTDT Mom's.. winter gear for infants???
Okay, I just looked. I thought the bundle me could only be used on infant seats. Can someone explain how it works? Can it work with any carseat/stroller? I guess I was thinking it was something that only fit on the travel infant seat.
TIA

They make a version of the bundle me for convertible car seats so that may solve your problem. As for what I did for DS, who was born 8/1, we got him a full on snowsuit/bunting thing that was a one piece outfit but it was not bulky. I then put blankets on him for super cold days.
DD is due 9/30 so for her I got a bundle me.
