BTDT moms...glider & ottoman question!
I am a BTDT mom, but not with gliders...I didn't get one before, and contemplating getting one now for new baby....but, is it worth it?
after the baby becomes a tot, what do you do with it?
is it a "must have" or a "eh, pass" ?

It's a must have for us. I actually have 2, one in DS's room and on in the den. I LOVE the Dutalier with the nursing ottoman. We stopped nursing when DS turned a year and now we use the glider for book time before bed. The one in the den get a lot of use too, it's very comfy!

I love mine. I got an upholstered one so it really looks like a regular piece of furniture. It is in my room and it is used every single day.

ehhh I'm torn.
It's great that I have it, but I don't know that I would miss it all that much if I didn't (although I'm not sure where I would give the baby his nightly bottle)

i got an upholstered Best Chair and it will go in my LR or the playroom. I picked a neutral fabric for that purpose. i LOVE that chair so much!!!

I love mine especially during the last few weeks of pregnancy!! DS is 7 months old and I still use it every night.

I was unsure too, but it turned out being the best thing I bought. I use it to nurse Ds and now that he is older we sit and read books in it. Make sure that you try them out before you buy it. I found that some were uncomfortable to sit in.

I was convinced that I needed one - got it and NEVER use it.
It is in the nursery and I didn't use it for either DD.
Can you borrow one from someone to see if you use it before you shell out the $$?
I also do think that I might have used it more if it were one of the upholstered ones. I have a Dutalier and the screws fell out of the ottoman and the chair makes a wierd noise when it rocks.

No one I know has one.....the thing is, I can't see myself sitting in the nursery, just nursing or something. 
Can I see myself feeding the baby while being parked on the couch in front of the living room TV watching Maury on Paternity Test tuesdays? yes. Seems I have to think about this... hmmm..maybe if I kept it in the living room?

i use mine for many feedings, but always morning and right before bed. when DD sometimes wakes in the middle of the night, its nice to have in her room so i don't have to go anywhere. the rocking helps put her to sleep. i'm comfy, therefore she's comfy. we also use it to read books. after i stop nursing her, i either move it to the living room or just keep it in her room for her. who knows but i love it!
i got mine on sale at BRU on black friday for $150!! it is so worth the money!

DD is 14.5 months and still use it every single night. It was especially great while BFing and now we read books and have the last bottle before bed on the glider. I can see us using it for a lot longer too!

we didnt have one when DS came home the first nite and DS was a crying mess..we had no where to sit and rock him. the next morning DH went out to Kmart and bought one. We sooo needed a place to rock DS to sleep or during the nite.
DS is 1 now and its in his room and we still use it.
I love it!!

GLIDER - COULDN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT!
The nights she wouldn't sleep
The nights she was sick
The days and night feedings
The days watching the sun/snow/rain while she slept in my arms
The cuddle time during reading a book or other stuff.
Yep, I'm frugal and pretty plain but the glider was sooooooooooooo worth it. I'm lucky someone got it for me. I can't imagine not having it.
AJ is now 2, it is in our living room as a chair and she STILL sits with us in it and we still use it to rock her sleep occasionally.
Ours looks more like a arm chair than a traditional glider. So it transitioned easily.

A glider and ottoman were totally worth it for me! I used it for BFing and pumping. Now its part of his bedtime routine, I sing and he has his bedtime bottle being rocked. I love it.

We have a Best Chair too...I can't live without it. We use it multiple times a day...to feed DD, to settle her down before bed, to read to her, to just sit and make each other laugh! I love it. Last week DH went away for the weekend and I stayed at my mom's...I totally missed the chair!!
Once I stop using it with DD...It can go in any other room in the house...it matches our decor.

I wanted one soo bad when I was pregent...DH said it was a waste and would't be used too often. Sure enough, when DS was born, and he would cry in the hospital, the ONLY thing to calm him down right away was sitting in the hosptials glider!! Soo... off to the store he went and bought me one LOL.
I loove my glider! Now that Ds is older we use it every night to wind him down... we read a book then he drinks his bottle sitting on my lap as I rock with his baby symphany playing int he background. I don't know what I would be doing without that now...

Love ours!
We did not start using it until DS was 7 months because we in a 1 bedroom apt. till then.
If I had it before I would have used it BF in (stopped when DS was 7 months).
BUT we use it every day!
We gave him bottles sitting in it.
It's great in the middle of the night if he wakes, we can sit & rock him.
Now we sit & read every night in it!

Didnt have one with DS, didnt miss it.
Got one with DD and used it for a whopping 5 weeks. For us so far, waste of money! I'm hoping that when she gets a little older, we'll read in there together though.

I LOVE my glider and ottoman! I used it a lot with my DD when she was a NB but now that she's older (she's 2) we sit in the glider every night before bed and have story time. I think it was worth getting, glad I did.
