BTDTs - Menstrual cramps sign of labor?
Are menstrual cramps a sign of labor? They are somewhat intense in my belly as well as my back and I'm 38w1d. I had a scheduled c/s with my DS and didn't ever go into labor so I'm clueless over here. I am scheduled this time around on June 8.
They are constant though...they don't start and stop like I assumed contractions did.
Anyone? I am kind of freaking out...I'm soooo not ready.

It sounds like it may be. You sort of feel the baby pushing down on your pelvis during contractions. Your stomach feels very hard.
It may be nothing though. Sometimes cramps are normal, or it could be BH.
I would call your doc though.

That's exactly how my labor started. They weren't regular or on any kind of pattern at first. I didn't think I was in labor. After approx. 6 hours of cramps like that I started having contractions that I could time (feel a beginning and end to them)
Good luck!

Since they're constant and not timed then you're probably not in active labor. My contractions felt exactly like menstrual cramps x100 with my first pregnancy, but they would come in waves, starting at every 10 mins and eventually got closer and closer together. But I did have cramping now and then before the night I went into labor that were more like what you're describing...more of a constant crampiness. I actually have that going on right now. (I'm 35 weeks along)

Good luck! Similar here, but mine lasted 3 days and I never knew that I was in labor. I went for my amnio to see if DS#1's lungs were mature & the Dr could not get the needle in. He told me after that I was having contractions. I still did not feel them even though I saw them on the baby monitor. I did not feel them until about 4 hours later (after 3 days of "cramping") right before my c-section,
Good luck!

Is the back pain in the kidney area? All 3 of my pregnanices were different even when it came to the beginning of labor but in all 3, I had pain in the kidney area.

Re: BTDTs - Menstrual cramps sign of labor?
Thanks ladies! Still having the cramping this morning pretty intensely and am just trying to take it easy. I really want to make it to my date as we have no one close by to take my 18 month old and can't imagine taking him with us!
