Build A Bear Birthday Party - any experience?
Thinking of it as a possibility for DS who will be turning 4. Planning on inviting his classmates and my 3 nephews.
Anyone ever host or attend a birthday party there? Expensive? Fun? Total waste of money?

I love the idea of it! But I've heard there's no cake or food at the store, so you have to do that somewhere else (like back at home or in the food court)

I went to a bday party there and the kids had a great time. But I wouldnt do a weekend party. The store is packed and they don't have a party room. I went to a party on a Tuesday afternoon during winter break and it was perfect.

I think I'm going to scratch this idea. I called and there is no where except the food court to have lunch/cake.

Yeah, we went to one when DD was 3 and the kids all got cupcakes to go. They will sing, but absolutely no food in the store.
Also, if you have more than say 8-10 kids, it's a LOT of waiting around and the kids get super antsy. It was a super cute party, but I felt like each step took forever and the kids did more waiting than anything else.

i looked into it once. i didn't like that we'd have to go to Sbarro for pizza and bring a cake. I also didn't like that regular customers were mixed in with guests for the party, they don't rope off the party anywhere.

I've been to one during the week, it was fun. But the store was dead. Would never do it on a weekend or school break. The mom decorated tables in the food court area. We had pizza and cupcakes.
