Bump! Tablet Advice?

For Christmas this year, my FIL got dd and her cousins each a Kindle fire, and they all love it! Dd is 2, so she got the kids version which comes with a protective case, kid-friendly software, and a two year replacement guarantee if it breaks. Her cousins, ages 5,7, & 10 each got the regular version. They all play with them a lot, even now almost 6 months after they got them. I would recommend the kids version because it is more kid-friendly and prevents kids from accessing the internet or anything else you wouldn't want them to see. But if you put in your parent password, it can be used just like a regular kindle fire, with internet access and all. So basically it can grow with your child, if you decide they're ready for more of a real tablet, they can use it that way.

We got our DD (6) the Kindle Fire. She loves it!! She has the Kindle Free Time plan on it too for like $2.99/month and she's able to access a TON of shows, books, and games. I like that she's blocked from the internet too, I don't have to worry about her seeing or downloading any inappropriate content.

Bump! Tablet Advice?

We have a Kindle Fire. DS is 3 1/2. Drops it all the time and it has not broken. We have everything locked down so he can't make any unexpected purchases.

Yeah my boyfriend got his two boys the Kindle -- not sure which -- but a good case for it and it's durable. They haven't had any issues and they love it.

This is what we got DS for Christmas this past year. The protective case is awesome and we love the Free Time that came with it. Its been fantastic. The ONLY complaint I have is that the battery life isn't the greatest, so you really have to charge it every single night.

I may be in the minority here but I purchased a Kindle Fire Kids edition for my daughter and I found it to be slow with poor battery life. I returned it and just got her an iPad.

I don't know if you use an iPad or how old yours is, but when I got the new iPad, I gave DD my old one. She LOVES it.

Re: Bump! Tablet Advice?

We used to have a kindle fire hd and loved it! That thing took some HUGE falls and just kept going!

Now my 4yo has a Samsung Tab which is great because it has room for a micro SD card, so we use that space for movies and pictures and dont use up the internal memory on those big items.

My 7yo just got an ipad mini. Really the only reason he got that over others is because his friends have minis and he can imessage or face time them. I worry about how strong the ipad is though so we bought him a lifeproof case too!
