bump underneath my dogs tail
Hello, I have a 2 year old ridgeback. He's been licking near his butt area for a couple days. We looked the other day and found a nickel size bump underneath and on the base of his tail. It's hard, but when we push on it, it almost seems as if it's filled with fluid or something. Does anyone know what this could be?

Def not an anal gland. I don't think. It's clearly on his tail.
I hope you remember the other name... :)
I just spent a lot of money on vet bills and i really don't want to take him for them to tell me it's nothing. ya know

I just googled, this is what I recall when I was searching my dog's random bumps.
If he has been licking alot, it could have caused a seroma or hematoma. Or it could have been there from friction, and that's why he is licking. I would give it a few days and then go to the vet b/c it could require antibiotics.

Re: bump underneath my dogs tail
My Max had something like this.. it ended up being a fatty deposit so for a while we just left it alone. However it did end up growing and had to be removed because of the awkwardness of the area.
