Burglary.. those with home security systems

Some kids broke into my moms house yesterday... thank god the neighbors saw them with their had through the back glass door and scared them off before they were actually able to get into the house! She has to go buy a new back door and get an alarm installed ASAP!

For those of you with home security systems... what company do you use... what do you pay monthly what made you pick that one over the companies??

I think the 3 most popular are ADT, Brinks and Slomins??

we use slomins. has the keypads, if im not mistaken , they run deals free installation, central station etc ...

We have Brinks because that is what the people who owned the house before us had and the house already had the keypads instatlled.

I can't remember what we pay per month, I think we just pay it off yearly and not have to worry about a monthly bill. We've had them for about 2 years now and are happy with them.

And sorry to hear about the break in at your mom's house.

im in pa and its a private company so that doesnt help you. But i pay $120 every 6 months. The alarm came with the house when we bought it..we just took over the contract.

the previous owner had the house wired up like fort knox b/c he was away a lot at dog breeding shows.

I think almost every window is wired, keypad at the front door, garage/backyard entrance, and upstairs outside our bedroom.

Brinks goes by a different name now i think..something like Broadview??

We use VMS Security (in Suffolk). Search the Home board - there have been multiple posts about rates, company recomendations, etc. I have posted the contact info for VMS there.

Look into Protection People, they are local (5 Towns), do very neat and quick installation (both wired & wireless), and are the most competitively priced at $24.00 a month for monitoring & dispatch service.

Since they own their own Central Station, they receive the signals & dispatch the police faster than any other company, there are no call centers, and have direct phone access to your local precient.

We have slomins and pay about $90 every 3 months. I don't recall what installation cost but I don't think it was much. You could have someone come for a quote.

We use Banner Alarm on Broadway in Massapequa. My family has been using them for over 20 years. Awesome...family owned etc. We pay about $65 a quarter.
