Buying for next year...

With all the winter clearance sales I'm thinking about buying and stocking up for next year. DS is 4 months now and in 6-9 month clothes already. So what size would you buy for next winter? 24 months? 2T? I definately want to get a winter coat and some sweatshirts- stuff like that. Is it worth it?

I don't really buy ahead and my DS is very true to size.

I do buy if I see a great deal though.

I'd buy 2T I guess in your case, they tend to slow down a bit after 1Chat Icon

Yeah, I'd say 2T for a jacket. DD is true-to-size in everything but jackets...she's 18 months old, and still in Carter's 12 month pants, BUT her jackets are 2T, since she wears them layered over stuff.

I can't even guess the correct size 3 months in the future... I wouldn't do it personally

Re: Buying for next year...

Hmm, I don't know. Maybe for normal growing kids but with my DS I have NO idea what size he'll be next winter (he's 11mos now). I thought he was finally slowing down and then this last dr's appt he grew 2 inches in 2 months and gained 1 pound in three weeks Chat Icon Apparently he thinks he's a newborn.

So I personally wouldn't be able to guess but maybe if your kid grows normally you could get an idea Chat Icon

Yeah I think I will stay away from pants. He seems to have a long torso/short legs and his pants are fitting for longer then the onesies. It's so wierd that he could be fitting into 2T next winter Chat Icon

Re: Buying for next year...

I dont think I woudl stock up. Last winter my MIL did get DS a few things that were a good deal, at the time he was only 1 month old but was a big boy. She bought him 18 months and it worked perfectly. She bought him a snow suit and winter coat, a hat or two, that type of thing. But its hard to predict their sizes...
