C section clothing?

Hi ladies,
Any suggestions for what type of clothes/pajamas to pack for a c section? I bought two night gowns but was wondering if I thou led pack a pajama pant set or if that would irritate the incision. I've read mixed things regarding pain and this will be my first. Also will I need pads? Do you bleed as much as you do with a vaginal birth? How long was your stay? I've heard 3 to 4 days. Thanks I'm clueless! I will be delivering LiJ.

The hospital does provide pads, but I've always bought my own(especially after day 3 I wanted my own). I delivered on a Friday and went home on Tuesday. I would have probably went home on Monday but my DD was in the NICU so I stayed the extra day.

As far as clothing I wore the hospital gown day of delivery and the day after. I was still hooked up to IVs and medication pump so it wasn't until that Sunday I was able to shower and change. Once I did change I wore pajama bottoms with nursing tanks I had 2 sets(purchase bottoms from old navy.com for like $10 each and nursing tanks from Destination maternity). Also try to get darker colors because you may leak. They didn't bother my incision since they were a size up. I also wore the belly bandit .

I bought old navy pj pants. They were loose and had a draw stting. Very comfy. You still bleed a lot. We were there 3 days

I used the big pads the hospital har, but bring some just in case

I took so many of those long pads from the hospital home. They also give you hospital underwear so that is helpful. But you will bleed - a lot. Ugh. Make sure to have pads for when you get home as well.

I wore loose pj's above the incision once I was able to change out of the hospital gown and into them (took a couple days).

I was super swollen all over after my c section and some of the clothes I bought didn't fit. I made my mom go out and geet me new underwear, bras and socks because my others were too tight. Maybe get a size bigger than what you're currently in.

I wore the nursing tanks and yoga capris. They were great because you can fold them under your belly or fold them up if you want to cover your belly. I think I used the maternity ones in the hospital.

Also, my dr. gave me this super tight band thing (kind of like the belly bandit) that the nurse adjusted to suck me in. He said it would help my uterus go back faster. It was great. I actually used it for a month and felt weird when I didnt have it on. Highly recommend.

It sounds like the stomach band is really helpful, I might invest in it in case LiJ doesn't provide me with it

I was also really swollen after my delivery that none of the clothes I asked DH to bring me fit. Even my nursing nightgown only fit like a long shirt For the first two days I was in the hospital gown because I had complications and wasn't allowed out of bed. DH ended up going to Walmart and buying me two pair of men's pajama pants in size XL (I was wearing size medium maternity clothes just to give you an idea of how baggy he made sure they were, lol), and two large men's zip up hoodies. I wore the hospital underwear, and frankly, I didn't put a bra on. I was happy to just put clothes on, lol.

I had loose soft yoga pants and my standard maternity tees. I also bought granny panties at the suggestion of other moms on here. I used them after the first day, but I did use the disposable hospital ones because they were easier at first. There was no way I could wear a gown because I was nervous about bleeding through. The pants held everything in place.

I bought maternity pjs and wore them after my section. They sat higher than my incision.

From arrival to discharge I was in the hospital 5 nights

I wore a short night gown with a short light cotton robe over it. They come and check the incision often so this made it easier. Also made it easier to use the bathroom since I was so sore and couldn't bend that well

Personally, no pants touched my body for the first two weeks. The incision area hurts and I didn't want pants going near it. In hospital, pajama dresses only and only maxi dresses once I was home.

I also brought a light cotton robe which was super helpful so I could go on walks around the floor. (Walking helps w he healing process so do it as much as u can.)
