clothing question - c-section related
i am getting some PJs for the hospital and for after the baby is born. in case i end up with a c-section, can i still wear PJ pants, just as long as the band isn't on the incision - or should i aviod pants altogether in that case?
TIA!

Re: clothing question - c-section related
I wore pregnancy pj pants 2 days after my C. I made sure the band was above my insicion (the incision is pretty low so its not that hard to make the band higher)

Re: clothing question - c-section related
I was the idiot who bought PJ pants for the hospital - BIG mistake. At least for the hospital, they will be coming in every 30 minutes to check the incision and even though you had a c-section, you'll be bleeding heavily. It's just so much more convenient to wear a nightgown.
For when I got home, I wore a lot of sweatpants and PJ's, with the band pulled up over the incision.
Invest in some good, full coverage panties so you can cover the incision and be more comfortable.

Re: clothing question - c-section related
I had a nightgown that I slept in, and a cute pajama set (pants) that I wore during the day...they were loose and I just pulled them down when they came to check the incision...

Re: clothing question - c-section related
I've had 2 c-sections and in my experience, there's no pajama pants in the world that are going to come anywhere near to the incision--it's below the hairline even!
I wore pj pants both times. The pants also did not interfere with the nurses/doctors checking the incision--just pull them down a bit and you're good to go!

Re: clothing question - c-section related
I wore night gowns. I found them to be more comfy. No way would I have been wanting to try to get pants on. The wasit line wouldnt have been the problem - just getting them on and bending over would have been a chore.

Same here. I had packed stuff to wear but I honestly just wore the hospital gowns for the majority of my stay. I even used their disposable mesh underwear. They were the most comfy to me.

Re: clothing question - c-section related
Thankfully I brought a lot of night gowns and after I had a c-section I thought they were great because I didnt even have to worry about it rubbing. I did bring PJ pants but was in another world when I thought size small pants were going to fit me. The gowns worked great.

ITA...
I feel more comfortable with pants on when I am bleeding...and as the above poster said the pants did not interfere with the nurses/doctors checking.

I wore pajama pants and never had an issue with it rubbing on my incision. The incision is so low.

I highly recomened a nightgown. as a pp said, It wont bother your incision and the nurses and docs are going to keep checking it like every 10 minutes.

Re: clothing question - c-section related
The first night I was in the hospital gown.
The second I had on a nightgown that I bought.
The third and fourth nights - regular capri pj pants.
They come in and check you ALOT in the beginning so you may want to get a nightgown!

Re: clothing question - c-section related
i had a c section and brought PJ pants and a nightgown (thinking i would wear the PJ pants) and it's a good thing because my legs were so bloated that the pants were so tight on me I was much more comfortable in a gown. I would bring both

Re: clothing question - c-section related
I wore yoga pants the day after my c-section. The incision is very low (at the hair line) so I don't think most pants will rub against it.

I agree, especially the day after the surgery. I wore a nightgown and that was the best. Day 2 I wore loose pants but they were still coming in regulaly to check my incision and I was bleeding so much I kept going to the bathroom to make sure I was ruining the pants.

I bled very heavily the 1st day but by the 2nd it was a little less and they took the catheter out and I wanted to put on real clothes. I'm not a nightgown person at all and felt more comfortable in pants.

Re: clothing question - c-section related
I wore PJs and am glad I did. My PJ pants were the drawstring kind so I could control how loose to make them. I definitely preferred just lowering the waistband than having to raise my whole nightgown. I made sure I didn't bring my fave pair of PJs since I knew there was a chance of them getting stained.
