C-section moms
What did you wear home from the hospital?
I remember after my surgery in that region regular pants hurt and I wore home yoga pants. I imagine the way maternity pants are cut, they are no good either as the seem tends to be right in that spot.
I guess I could wear home yoga pants but I'm expecting my dad will be taking tons of photos.
Suggestions?
It's March 24.

Re: C-section moms
I have had three c-sections and I have only found yoga pants to be the most comfortable (or PJ pants haha). Even my maternity pants with rub against my incision and cause irritation. When are you due? You could wear a cute dress if it's warmer out.

Re: C-section moms
I wore the same maxi dress home that I was admitted in. I think I lived in dresses until my stitches came out. This time I'm delivering in mid May, I'm sure I can't get away with dresses this time around.

I wore a black maternity maxi dress from Old Navy w/a denim crop jacket and flip flops. My feet were so swollen I couldn't fit my sandals. This was early September 2013 . I plan on wearing the same (maybe not the jacket) after this baby. I'm due in August.

Mid May its warm somewhat. I would definitely wear a maxi but maybe throw on a jacket (denim).

I was so swollen I could only fit in yoga pants that were a size bigger than I normally wore.

C-section moms
Maternity leggings, maternity tank, sweater. and the hospital disposable undies.
ETA: no stitches, my doc closed me up with dermabond, my scar is GORGEOUS and already fading nicely... like, seriously, I've had surgery with stitches on my abdomen before (laproscopically) and the dermabond scar looks like my stitches scar did after almost a year, and it's only going to be 4 months next week.

Re: C-section moms
I had a surprise c-section and forgot to ask DH to bring me a change of clothes, so I wore home exactly what I wore to the hospital...full panel maternity leggings.

Re: C-section moms
I wore a pair of sweats -- but they were nice sweats, fitted throughout the leg but a nice, waist band that wasn't too restricting and what was good is it came up a little higher so it wasn't resting anywhere near the area. I was OK like that. They weren't maternity - I bought them right before I had my CS at the GAP, I just went up a size. I mean, you know your body but for me that worked great.
I just made sure I had a cute shirt on, a cute little zip-up jacket and my hair and make-up done so that in pics I looked good LOL!

Re: C-section moms
Since I was early and didn't have a hospital bag packed, DD went while I was in the hospital and bought me huge drawstring sweatpants. I was so swollen and in so much pain that none of my clothes (even maternity) were comfortable. So I wore those and a zip up hoodie home.

Re: C-section moms
I wore my maternity yoga pants and a tank top (this was in the summer). After that, I had to make sure to wear underwear that didn't go near the incision line - so basically got larger ones that I also had to cut some on the ends to just have nothing touching that area. My incision is small, but even now 6 months after, its numb and I feel it.

I HATE the numb feeling. It's so strange to me. That's something I don't remember at all having with my other abdominal surgery.

I'm still numb 2 years later. You get used to it!

Leggings and a tunic type shirt. It wasn't uncomfortable, but I wasn't entirely comfortable in anything even a nightgown.

I had that numb feeling for about a year after my myomectomy, not looking forward to having it again.

Re: C-section moms
I bought these loose sweatpants from Target ahead of time. I had a planned c-section (breech baby). Yes there were pictures in not the nicest outfit but I was I was so tired, etc. it didn't matter.

Yeah, it was totally strange when I first started feeling the numbness. Now I just know. I still don't sleep on my stomach because it feels like I'm stretching by the incision and it feels more numb.

If I wear certain high-waisted underwear, which tend to be tighter in that area, while it smooths out that pouch, it makes it much more numb throughout the day. I'll take anything this body needs to go through, it was totally worth it.... and I'll do it again in a heart beat.
