C-section pain - a month later????
I've been so on the mend lately really starting to feel better.
Today is exactly one month since DD was born to the day... and I'm in pain again??? Maybe I overdid something? Is this normal... should I be calling the doctor? I'm not doubled over or bleeding or anything and the discharge bleeding is like nothing, but I'm definately a little more than uncomfortable.
Anyone else experience such a thing? I'm surrounded by people who feel c-sections are no big deal so I think I'm being perceived as a wus! Very discouraging.

Re: C-section pain - a month later????
I still had some pain getting in and out of bed and at times when I lifted the baby. Luckily, DH was home for 5 weeks and carried the baby in the carrier when we went out.

Re: C-section pain - a month later????
I've been doing a lot on my own, DH has had to work so I've lifted her car seat in and out of the car and all sorts of other stuff... is that too much too soon? I was feeling okay until today. Now I can't even hold her which made me feel bad earlier she had a crying fit but I had to put her in the bouncie seat - she was kicking me where it hurts and I was afraid I'd drop her so I just sat with her. DH is home now, but now she's asleep in the bouncie... I wanted to give her a bath today, but I'm a little afraid since I'm not feeling great... I don't want her to get hurt b/c I can't take it easy.

She's not getting that dirty at this age. Skip the bath for today and take it easy.
You have to take care of yourself to take good care of her.

Re: C-section pain - a month later????
If it's been a month and you have pain to the point where you are afraid to hold her than I would suggest calling the doctor.
It's been 6 weeks for me and I still get discomfort when I overexert myself but it's more like a stomach cramp from running than anything else.
But definitely, definitely take it easy!!! You've had major surgery that can take up to a year to fully heal.
I know that there are those out there back to their regular routine after a month but my dr. said absolutely no lifting anything other than baby (including baby AND carseat) for the first 2 months, and no exercise (only walking) until 3 months.
You know your body. Don't push yourself if you don't have to.

Re: C-section pain - a month later????
I was out of the hospital in 2 days and felt great after my c-section. 3 weeks later I pulled a muscle...ouch! The pain was worse than the initial pain. Myt doc had to prescribe meds. But if it is just a little discomfort, maybe no big deal. Hope you feel better!

Re: C-section pain - a month later????
I felt so great after my c-section I was like you, I could do it all. Then I told my OB how I took ds out alone in his carrier, and she shot me a look of death. She told me now matter how good I feel I have to remember to take it easy!
you probably over did it. Just take it easy!
Oh also for the first few times I got AF after, I would feel some pain in the incision after, I guess as my uterus got ready for AF to come.

a WUS? No BIG DEAL?
Thats insane! They cut through how many umpteen layers of muscle, skin, etc and then ORGANS. Which all have to HEAL.
That annoys me.
I had pain till 4 months PP.
Sending you hugs. SPeak up, tell them your in PAIN.

Listen, you need to take it easy. You had a MAJOR abdominal surgery. You need to heal.
I was in pain for several weeks.

Re: C-section pain - a month later????
I am 3 weeks and 5 days PP and I am having pain on the left side of my incision today. My sciatic is also a HUGE mess. I can barely lift my right leg some days. But I know it will get better.
Take it easy and try not to do too much.

I had soarness for a while. I would feel GREAT, push it (climb tons of stairs and lift a lot) and then I would feel awful. After 3 months you will feel perfect. Just take a easy.

Re: C-section pain - a month later????
I didn't have pain a month later, but I started bleeding heavily a month after DD was born. When I went to the doctor I was told I was trying to do WAY TOO MUCH and to slow down. It was my body's way of saying, "Hey, you're not totally healed yet!"
You're definitely NOT being a wuss. C-Sections are MAJOR surgery. Try and take it easy as much as possible. By 2-3 months I was feeling almost back to normal.
