Cablevision customers--A question

I have been having problems with the sound on my television lately--all of the sudden, there will be no volume, as if I had muted it, but I haven't. It doesn't come back until I change the channel and then flip back or if I pause the live TV and hit play again.

Has this been happening to you? I am not sure if it is my cable service, the box, or the TV itself! It happens on all different channels.

Thanks!

Re: Cablevision customers--A question

It hasn't been happening to me but my dh works for Cablevision and said it could be the box or the tv. Maybe try bringing the box to cablevision and get a new one. Or if you have two boxes in your house, maybe switch them for a period of time and see if its the tv or cable box. hth

It's funny you mention this...

I just recently switched to fios, but I was having this issue last month with cablevision....

I'd switch to an HD channel and all of a sudden - no audio!! so annoying.

I'd have to reset the box 2x in order for it to get better... but it kept happening too often.

This happened to us and there is a volume button on the actual cable box and we turned it up and we were fine.

Re: Cablevision customers--A question

Yes! I have been having that problem also.

I also have been having issues with cable channels. I put on Chelsea Lately at 11 p.m. and every night I have no E! It happens on a few of the other cable channels too. Service will just stop and later it will come back on.

If it's the box I'm going to be really annoyed. I just changed boxes last month. Its going to be hissy fit central if I have to lose whats on my DVR again b/c they gave me some refurbished piece of crap.

Re: Cablevision customers--A question

We have been having the same problem! It is always really random too. I thought it was the remote but then realized the channels changed with no problem....just couldn't change the volume. I think it may be the cable box for us.
