Re: Cablevision PACKAGE ( tv, phone, PC)
Maybe... who knows.
There may be some sort of "code" on the mailer to get the package. If you know the code... then it can be looked up.

Re: Cablevision PACKAGE ( tv, phone, PC)
As far as the 911 aspect. My DH works for Cable also he is in the engineering dept. HE assures that 911 works just as good as a Verizon line would. You just have to make sure the modem stays at the address that the modem is registered to. He said 911 is never an issue they have had some QOS issues but most of them are related to the home.

Re: Cablevision PACKAGE ( tv, phone, PC)
I mentioned this to DW and she said she heard of this promotion.
Its $20 off a month for the service... called optimum service reward and its only available in certain areas to existing customers.

She said it was the triple play, Im just asking...
No she didn't. All she said was she got a mailer that said all three services for $99 a month.
Show me where she says "triple play".... maybe I am missing something.
Hey there killer I edited my post before you even posted this, Someone said not donna I took it back
Ok i saw what you originally posted and I hit reply.
Anyways... from what I have heard... sales and the sales promotions are completely different entities from what customer service and retention have to offer the current customers.
Most likely the CSRs won't know too much about what new customers in sales can get. And just like the sales people won't know what offers the current customers can get... or the people that call to cancel and want better deals.
But if the ad says "for current customers"... then its for current customers and thats handled through customer service... not sales.
But sales people do upgrade exsisting customers
Donna Mike wants to know if its for the silver package and talks about getting a free DVR
YES AND YES. Its for the silver and yes it talks about a years worth of free DVR.

Mike said to make sure to read all the fine print.
It says its for DBS win back customers meaning you have to have Satalite and need to show the tech your Sattelite bill when they come to do the install.

If you have IO silver its the same as cablevisions Silver package.
They ment like direct tv or dish network

I was going to say... that since your hubby works in Sales... he probably won't be aware of offers that go out to current customers.
Not true we get emails showing the ads going out to new and current customers.
There are two things to note here. dm24 said the ad she got was $99 a month for all three services. This may NOT be the Triple Play promotion... because the triple play promotion is $89.85 a month for all three ($29.95 x 3).
there are many different promos going on right now, for non customers, non satellite customers there are three levels of triple play
io fam(29.95)w/bx(5.24)+ool(29.95)+ov(29.95)=95.19
io silver(49.95)+bx+ool(29.95)+ov(29.95)=115.19
io gold(59.95)+bx+ool(29.95)+ov(29.95)=125.19
dbs(must provide satellite bill)
io silver w/1dvr+ool+ov=99.95
io gold w/1 dvr+ool+ov=119.95
io silver w/ool 79.95
io gold w/ool 89.95
then they have the double play for existing customers with fam tv or higher, but dont have ool or ov
get ool and ov for 29.95 each per month

It is possible they are trying to push the package to select EXISTING customers that don't have the phone service through Cablevision.
I know the triple play deal was for new customers only... but maybe they are slowly starting to change their ways now that competition is coming in the area.
I have to say one thing though.... Cablevision's Optimum internet service SMOKES anything else thats available. I have used it at my MIL's place... and its WAY faster than DSL. Its also faster than Time Warner's Roadrunner in Queens... as well as RCN in Queens.
I am looking forward to getting Optimum cause my RCN cable is starting to get crappy.
just wait a few months ool is going to be getting faster
