Re: cablevision tv & fios cable
We have FiOS for phone and Internet, and DishNetwork for TV, with no plans to switch any time soon. Everyone is fighting for your $$ nowadays, so I would think you could get some good deals no matter what way you go.

Re: cablevision tv & fios cable
we would have gone for Fios, but we get cable for free through our condo maintance fee, so it was cheaper for phone-verizon & internet-cablevision. We did try to do phone through cablevision, but they would have had to rewire everything outside and charge us an additional fee. We stuck with Verizon, so far so good

Re: cablevision tv & fios cable
I have FIOS for Phone, TV and Internet. I have received 4 or 5 phone calls from cablevision to switch in the past 3 months...... the deal keeps getting better........ I have 4 tvs, 2 HD DVR's and all of the movie channels. Last night cablevision offered me a free upgrade to the boost internet 30 meg/sec, a free battery backup for phone, normally 50 dollars(Verizon provides this free of charge) all the movie channels for 149/ month for 2 years. I said no.......
cant wait till the next offer.......
once FIOS comes to your area, ceblevision will give you the world. They are losing lot of money....

usually when you "bundle" your services together with one company you will get the best value.

This is what we found as well.
Also, to get the best deal with the bundled services, you have to keep them for at least a year.

I would go with Cablevision until FIOS comes to your area. You can get a better deal if you get the triple package with cable, internet, and phone.

Re: cablevision tv & fios cable
Verizon Fios does a deal with DirectTv. That is what we have. We have Fios phone and Internet and DirectTV for television.

Re: cablevision tv & fios cable
If you have two different providers, and one goes down, you can still use the other (ie, if you lose TV, you can still surf LIF, and vice-versa). If your sole provider goes down.... no TV, no phone, no Internet....

I never found you had to keep them for a year. You can cancel it earlier than a year, but usually the promo rate ends after a year.
I had the triple play through cablevision for only a 6 month stretch with no problems when I had to cancel it.
