cablevision users- $$ off bill
we called after a friend told us to speak the customer retention dept, we said verizon came by and offered a pretty good deal-
they gave us all these discounts so we get like $30 or so off each bill for the next year

We did the same thing and in addition to the discount we got for having the triple play they gave us $30 off too.

I called and told them I was going to look into switching companies because of the increase and they deducted $30 a month.
I thought I was special, I guess not

we have the tripel paly and dont even use the phone part we just got it to keep our bill down (soif I call they will take off another 30 WOW that willbe great)

Dh tried this once after we lost our intro rate and they wouldn't budge. I think his negotiation skills stink I think I'll try calling and see if I can get something. Our bill is over $200 every darn month.

Wow! With the hassel that cablevision has been giving us lately, they tried charging us fees because my bank would not let a payment go through under my maiden name, even though we switched everything with cablevision, they shut off our service for something that was thier fault, I wanted to switch to FIOS but i think i would miss everything cablevision has. Maybe i will try this and get some money out of these people.

I did this last year with Cablevision, and they gave us a sweet deal for a year, and when the year was up I called again and was basically told, Too Bad, So Sad.
We switched to Verizon in December service so far has been great, especially the internet. Don't know if they're cheaper though, we added stuff we didn't have with cablevision.

i just called and after 40 mins on the phone between being transferred and being on hold, i saved $30 a month for 6 months! thanks so much for posting this

Thank you so much for this. I have been having issues with cablevision becuase after the first 12 months, my bill went up $40 a month, and nobody would do anything to help us. I called today, and didn't even mention switching (because I'm sure cable knows that Verizon Fios is not available in the town of Brookhaven yet) The woman I spoke with said that because my payment history was good, her supervisor was willing to give me $20 of my bill each month for a year.

i don't have cablevision but it is my understanding that if you complain about something - anything - to them, they'll take $$$ off. MIL totally took advantage of that and called up with some b.s. now she's paying $54/month for all three for the next 6 months.

My wife just called and said we were considering switching to FIOS, and they took 15 bucks off, and said that verizon will charge you 9.95 per month for the free 19inch tv...??????I Did not hear that one, has anyone had that happen to them if they decided to switch?
