what bothered me was Kylie, Kendall and Khloe were crying...but Kim and Kourtney didn't look phased at all.

I had SUCH a hard time getting over that. Still do. I support her 100%. It just felt like a man dressed as a woman.

I have to admit that I wasn't 100% on board with Caitlyn. Basically in thinking that is was something she should not have done in the spotlight, was it all for ratings, and how hard it must have been for her family basically getting the transition sprung on them BUT after watching this video, I have a complete different view and I stand behind her 100%. I thought it was moving and honest and I really hope it helps any others out there thinking of transitioning. I think that every single person should watch this video. It was an eye opener.
I do agree with others though that the voice is really throwing me. She needs to learn to make her voice more feminine.

I always liked Bruce, and I really love Caitlin and thought her speech was super. I still would like to know how someone so likeable and non self centered as Bruce/Caitlin married that famewhore and stayed so many years. Good for him/her for breaking free of that wench and now becoming Caitlyn. Kudos to Caitlyn's daughter's and sons who actually do support her.

I can't judge. No matter what Im feeling inside I never show my emotions. Very, very rarely. Not everyone is quick to shed tears every two seconds.

Fantastic speech! Loved the video too, I got a little emotional watching.
As for the kids, they each have their own journey to deal with this. They aren't all going to feel the same and handle it the same, or in the same time. And it is a lot to handle, especially for the younger ones. She had said in the Diane Sawyer interview that Khloe has not handled it well and that Kim had handled it best, so not surprising that Kim was not emotional like her sisters.

ITA. I can't judge because although it is amazing that she is finally being who she truly is, I cannot imagine watching my dad up there in a dress with boobs, makeup etc. That is just me being honest. I know in the end I'd be happy because he was finally happy but I'd have to mourn the loss of my "dad". Everyone deals in their own way. I did think the speech was excellent and delivered beautifully. Caitlyn's mother seems amazing. I will also say that she needs to stop with the plastic surgery. Her body looks incredibly fit but her face is hard to look at. Looks almost uncomfortable. Her eye is droopy and just looks plastic.

I agree. I think maybe something (not sure what word I am looking for here) was lost because of the whole group he associated him/herself with. I think more people would have taken her seriously , esp in the beginning , if he was just a former Olympic athlete and not part of the kardashian media circus.
If I am not mistaken I'm pretty sure that by official trade Bruce was a high cost motivational speaker and I see that this probably won't change.

love! The amount of ignorance Ive seen in FB by people who say "this is a sports award, we dont need to see this during the ESPY's" or some form of that statement have me seeing RED today. Ive "unfriended" at least 5 people and I dont give a shit if its awkward the next time I see them bc you sir are an asshole.
This is EXACTLY the thing this award was meant for.

I heard that on a tabloid news show, but didn't know whether to believe it. If true, how horrible--to ask for/negotiate for the award! It cheapens the whole award and the whole selection---and it answers the question someone posed above about Kris.
If it's true, I am disgusted---with her, ABC, the award, the whole thing. How tacky and self-serving! Who thinks of doing these kind of things?
Surprised there are not more people who feel like we do.

Same here! The same FB friends saying Caitlyn Jenner didn't have courage also signed a petition to bring back the Duggars. Enough said! Unfriended immediately!

Google Lauren Hill, the 19 year basketball player who when stricken with cancer, managed to raise over a million dollars for cancer research.
THAT is what the Arthur Ashe courage award should be about.

with all due respect, just because caitlyn isn't a hero in your eyes, doesn't mean she isn't to the thousands of people who struggle with this daily. who contemplate suicide, who are isolated, alienated, etc.
there are many forms of courage. this happene to be one of them. one that is very rarely addressed on such a huge public forum.
