I use cloth wipes as well as cloth diapers. We use pre-fold with thirsties covers.
I keep a small bowl full of water near the diaper changing station and soak a wipe in it before use.
I also use California Baby Diaper Area Wash . A few spritzs of that ans wipe up.
The wipes I use are from Little Lions . I love them. They are super soft and nice and big. I usually only need 1 unless its a MAJOR poop!

I am doing a trial right now, so Fuzzibunz, BG 3.0, BG Organic, Fab Fitted w/Thirsties cover & prefolds (which I find next to impossible on a 15 month old but will likely try again when we have #2)---I also bought one GroBaby (which I like but find the leg elastic a little tight for my big thighed son!) and I ordered a sposoeasy to try. Right now I like the Fuzzibunz & BG 3.0, but I haven't made up my mind yet!!!

Thanks, I will check these out. I figure if I am washing diapers I might as well wash wipes, seems easy enough! One hint a friend shared with me (for when DC gets older like mine and will likely knock a bowl of water off the table)---she puts water in a soap dispenser and wets the wipe that way! Just thought I would share for down the road!

Thanks! I do have a couple questions! Have you tried the One Size FB? What inserts do you use for overnight/naps or is the microfiber enough for you? And one more, have you had any 'stink' issues with the microfiber? Thanks so much!!!

Re: Calling all cloth diapering mommies....
I am looking into the cloth diapers ~ how many diapers did you buy at first? are you washing these diapers every day? For the Fuzzi Bunz Do you use the microfiber terry inserts for every changing? Sorry for all the questions ~ I am alittle confused ~ was curious what everyone does Thanks a bunch!

As far as how many, I think it depends on the age---I know newborns need more then say, my 15 month old. I am doing a trial thru Jilliansdrawers.com which I highly recommend, they send you a bunch of new diapers for 21 days, you pay upfront, then they refund you all the money minus $10 if you don't keep any of the diapers. You can also chose to keep just some of them. That way you can see what fits your child first before you lay out the money. For the Fuzzibunz, its a pocket diaper, so you stuff it with the insert and you need a new diaper at every change (can't reuse the pocket)---there is a new diaper called the grobaby you can reuse the shell more then once as long as its clean. My son is 15 months and I plan on having about 16 diapers, I am averaging 7 changes a day in cloth (about every 2-3 hours) so this should be about 2 days worth and I am doing laundry every other day. HTH! I am still pretty new to this, but feel free to ask any questions. I have also found that the customer service for those who sell cloth goes above and beyond. I was on the phone this morning with jilliansdrawers asking a ton of questions and they were super helpful. GL!

Re: Calling all cloth diapering mommies....
I am not using cloth wipes right now, but plan to - just have to get DH on board.
We use BG 3.0 OS. LOVE THEM. I like them better than fuzzi bunz - I think the velcro is a lot easier on a squirmy baby than the snaps, and also I find some of the snaps don't snap right. For overnight, I put in one of the regular inserts and one of the newborn/diaper doublers. Never have a leak this way. As for the "stink" issue, we put a little bit of bleach in the wash once a month, and that .gets rid of the smell.
We have 22 diapers - and thats for 2 babies. We wash them every other day, which is what BG recommends anyway

Re: Calling all cloth diapering mommies....
Since All of you use them...LEt me ask a questions about poopy diapers. how do you clean them? DO you Dump them in the toliet bowl I read , do you have a spray washer to wash it down the toilet bowl etc?
I just never really understand the logistics of it and if its a ton of extra work.
I wanted to use them for my son but was too lazy for sure , now I would like to try for the twins but I will still have likely 3 in diapers and I'm a bit overwhelmed with how it will work? If Im crazy for trying.
TIA and sorry to hujack the thread a bit

We just put the poopy diapers right into the washing machine, it comes right off. Breast milk is completely water soluble - I'm not sure about formula though. When they get older and have more solid poops I'll shake it off in the toilet first. You're not crazy at all for trying. I'm doing it with twins, and its very easy!

Re: Calling all cloth diapering mommies....
We use CD's and love it! Right now we're using BG 3.0's and I tried a bunch in the beginning but these have been the best fit for DS. I'm not using cloth wipes, for me it was one thing I didn't want to take on. Maybe in the future but not now. We have 13 diapers and that is enough, I wash every day or every other day- pretty much when i notice I am getting low. I also air dry them if I have enough diapers to get me through. For overnights I use the OS microfiber insert plus a trifolded hemp insert and haven't had a leak yet (he pees right through regular diapers). As for poopy formula diapers, well in the beginning it was messy but you invest in a diaper sprayer and spray the poop off into the toilet. Now that DS is eating solids he has fairly solid poop and it plops right into the toilet. if you BF you can put it right into the washer.
honestly it's SO easy and once you get used to it you really don't think about it. The only thing that drives me a little crazy is that DS is a big boy and the diapers are a bit bigger then disposibles so it's tough getting pants to fit right on him. Most days he ends up without pants on (and I'm really happy warm weather is here!!).

I don't have a sprayer, DS poops are usually soft solid (sorry if TMI), so they just come right off into the toilet. They also sell flushable liners you can put in the CD, but I haven't needed anything like that. I didn't CD when DS was an infant, so I am not really sure about that, but I plan to try when we have #2

Re: Calling all cloth diapering mommies....
I can't say enough good things about Fuzzi Bunz! Their customer service was great! We never used a sprayer. We always used the microfiber inserts that came with the diapers and had no issues. Breast Milk poo is water soluable and disolves just as easy as pee. When baby gets older and on solids and poo firms up you simply shake the diaper over the toilet and poo goes in the toilet where it belongs! We started with 12 but loved them so much and all the great colors and patterns we wound up with well over 2 dozen Cloth Diapering may seem overwhelming in the beginning but as with anything else once you get into a routine it becomes easy and fun A great investment and you can use for more than one child.
