neocate spin-off***calling all neocate mommies
I have questions regarding Neocate--I fm'ed some of u--I didn't know we had quite a few babies on it on here.
#1--what symptoms were there that your baby is on neocate?
#-what remedies did u try or they had u try first?
#3-did u see a quick improvement? and how long until u definitely knew there was a improvement?
#4-was the formula all u expected?
#5--any symptoms your dc still has that the formula really did not make a difference with?
ugh..I know I have more but maybe this will open for more questions...I am just wanting to know all I can being this is the last chance I guess u can say for my two to be in less pain. any info is appreciated!

Re: neocate spin-off***calling all neocate mommies
#1--what symptoms were there that your baby is on neocate?
Andy was a very fussy eater, but we didn't realize it was that he was uncomfortable until he started passing bloody stools. Plus he had (and still has) severe excema, which is a symptom of some food allergies, including milk.
#-what remedies did u try or they had u try first?
First we tried Alimentum, but we were still finding blood in his stool, so we were switched to Neocate.
#3-did u see a quick improvement? and how long until u definitely knew there was a improvement?
He was so much easier to feed right away. But then he got constipated for a month. Nothing worked, we tried prune juice several times a day, thermometer trick, warm baths, baby laxative, finally the doctor had to manually stimulate it and we used suppositories. Now he gets prune juice several times a day to keep things moving. No more blood in the stool.
#4-was the formula all u expected?
Nope, wasn't expecting the severe constipation, but the doctor said it meant the formula was working. Other than that it's great, he's like a new kid when he eats.
#5--any symptoms your dc still has that the formula really did not make a difference with?
The excema around his mouth. It cleared up on the rest of his body, but around his mouth it is still bad, but they think it's that he's one of those kids who drools a lot while teething plus the food allergy related excema.

#1--what symptoms were there that your baby is on neocate? Bloody stools, and he was very uncomfortable after eating
#-what remedies did u try or they had u try first? Alimentum, but it didnt help. #3-did u see a quick improvement? and how long until u definitely knew there was a improvement? His belly was better immediately, blood cleared from his stools within a week.
#4-was the formula all u expected? Yup, its a lifesaver!
#5--any symptoms your dc still has that the formula really did not make a difference with? Still a little gassy, but nothing like before...I also notice that it made him constipated!

Blood and mucus in stool, uncomfortable while eating, he pooped about 12 x's a day!
#-what remedies did u try or they had u try first?
We tried Alimentum first, still saw blood in stool
#3-did u see a quick improvement? and how long until u definitely knew there was a improvement?
We saw a quick improvement, we didn't see the blood anymore, after two weeks the dr tested his stool again and all the blood was gone
#4-was the formula all u expected?
The formula was fine, just expensive!
#5--any symptoms your dc still has that the formula really did not make a difference with?
No
I have a few cans left over that I am going to sell for what I paid for them under my insurance, if you need them let me know. Any ohter questions feel free to ask
