calling all people who know the city and good bars
I set my brother up on a date.. shes coming into grand central and hes coming into penn..where is there a good bar for a blind first date in between the 2 places thanks

Don't let the name throw you off, but I recommend
The Galway Hooker (which is a small wooden sailboat, I think).
It's a bar/restaurant that has pool tables in the back.
It's at 7 East 36th Street, so it's an easy walk for both. I also think they have a website.

Park Avenue Tavern.
It's on 39th and Park.
You have your own individual beer tap on the wall next to your table. (I think there are 3 beers to choose from)
Pour as you go. They charge you by the ounce.
So much fun and different!!!

It's on East 36th between Madison and 5th. Cool spot. Not very loud music (ie., can have a conversation without screaming)
ETA: It's right next to the Galway Hooker that the PPs suggested...so I guess if one is super crowded, try the other!
