Can anyone recommend their OB that delivers at St. Charles or St. Catherines
And will be supportive of a VBAC?
I know its a long shot... but I can't go to the midwives, Three Village, Stony Brook OB/Gyn, or any other practice that will only deliver at Stony Brook, because the hospital doesn't take my insurance.
TIA!

I have Suffolk OBGYN and they deliver at St Charles...they have offices in Port Jeff, Smithtown, Wading River and I think one other location. I love them!! They are so informative and supportive to me with all my first time freak outs
Their website is suffolkobgyn.com

I also use Suffolk OBGYN & will deliver @ St. Charles. We go to the Port Jeff office. There are alot of Dr.s & thats a down side but they are super nice & professional. When I had my miscarriage they were so good to DH & I.
When I first got pregnant I had horrible insurance (HIP Prime) & they took it. Although I now have good insurance.
*edit* the other location is Patchogue. We actually live in Patchogue but we didn't like that office as much & use the Port Jeff one.

True, as of next week they will have 7 doctors...although they try to make sure you see different ones each time so that you get to know them all.
They seem to keep files very up to date and informative though, I've called twice in the past 2 weeks, plus had a sono and ob appt this week and each time I go/talk to them, they know exactly what has been going on without me having to review anything. So even though it is someone else each time, to me it doesn't feel any different than when I went to a practice (for general check-ups, birth control, etc) with just one or two Drs.
ETA: I just saw your question about the VBAC, and since this is my first I wouldn't know the answer to that, sorry!

I highly recommend Contemporary woman's care. They deliver at St. Catherines. I love them! It's the first group that I am really happy with.

They will not support a VBAC.

I go to Suffolk OB/GYN and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Petraco. He delivered my DD at St. Charles. I honestly don't know what his take is on VBAC's but once I am pregnant with #2 I certainly plan on finding out.

If you want to see the same doctor all the time they really don't care as long as you can get an appt. Once in a while I saw someone different but I would say 90% of the time I scheduled my appts. with Petraco because I just loved him!

Women's Health Care of Suffolk
Smithtown office 631-724-8585 Hauppauge office 631-234-6249
I am not 100% sure if they support VBAC but I really hope they do. If not I will be switching practices for #2. We don't to TTC anytime soon.
I LOVE Dr.Turano but Dr. Birnbaum is great too. They are the only 2 Drs there that deliver
They both ended up being there for my C-section @ St. Catherine's
