can i buy the following foods a week in advance and hope for freshness?
Having a party Saturday the 23rd. Is this weekend too early to buy the following? Should I wait til further in the week? I have a lot to do during the week but I could squeeze the shopping in if I have to.
Produce like onions, lettuce, peppers, corn, broccoli, carrots, celery, tomatoes, cucumbers.
Cheeses: feta, mozzarella, muenster, pepperjack, cheddar
thanks for your help

of your list...i think onion, celery and carrots are ok to get a week in advance - the rest of the produce will not last a week.
in terms of cheeses...if you are getting blocks they should be fine for the week as long as they are unopened

all blocks except the feta...that'd be crumbled in a container

Produce: onions, carrots, corn yes. Peppers, broccoli, tomatoes (especially if they are grape tomatoes), probably. Celery always seems to turn on me quickly as do cucumbers. You don't want the lettuce to be wilty so I'd get that closer in.
Cheese: depends how you are getting it (cheese counter vs off the shelf). If it's packaged cheese from the dairy aisle it will be fine. If you are intending to get fresh mozz I wouldn't get that a week ahead of time.

if it's a deli container from the cheese counter i'd say no, but if it's from the dairy aisle then it should be fine, just check the exp date.

everything is okay for one week except the cheese if it is presliced/from the deli. If it is a wrapped block cheese or sliced in the dairy section, check the dates and I am sure it is fine.
