Re: Can I still lift heavy stuff?
I think the limit is 20 or 25 lbs. I personally, would not lift that. But, that's me.

Re: Can I still lift heavy stuff?
For something unimportant like that, I would ask for help if someone is around.
But my DD is about 25 lbs and I have to lift and carry her around all the time. I just be careful not to hurt myself.

Re: Can I still lift heavy stuff?
If I was dying of thirst and noone else was around to help, I would probably just do it myself. Though in fairness, I'm stubborn like that. Plus my son still makes me carry him around sometimes and he's 36lbs.

I use to be the one to change it too, but not anymore! Now I make other people do it!

Re: Can I still lift heavy stuff?
There's no harm to the baby by you lifting and there is also no specific weight limit that you can lift. The onyl potential danger is that you will injure yourself (most likely your back) if it is heavier than you are used to lifting or if you don't lift correctly. Especially being in your first trimester, you're center of gravity isn't off yet since your belly isn't big so as long as you are used to normally lifting that, you are fine. I am almost 32 weeks now and I haven't changed anything I normally lift (and I work in a preschool- lifting children and large musical instruments and stacks of chairs, etc.) because my doc said it was fine. I have had no issues at all- I just make sure to check mysself and always be certain I am lifting from my legs, bending my knees, so as not to put the strain on my back. So as long as it is weight you are used to lifitng and you lift correctly, you'll be good to go!

Yup. This is what my OB told me. I have a toddler that is over 30lbs and I am lifting him all day every day. If you couldn't lift things while pg women would never be able to have two children close together!

Re: Can I still lift heavy stuff?
Not a stupid question-just be careful and if possible, get someone else to do it. If you don't have to lift it, don't, but I wouldn't really worry too much because as you can see, we have a lot of preggos who have toddlers.

Re: Can I still lift heavy stuff?
try to get someone else to do it but if you must be careful. i lift and carry around my DD all the time and I've been fine...women have been pregnant and carrying around their children since the dawn of time. it's a necessity. that being said, I was far more cautious of this stuff during my first pregnancy!

Re: Can I still lift heavy stuff?
I say please don't. This one time in your life just ask for help! I have to lift some heavy things at work and I felt so stupid stopping random guys in the hallway to help me but it's just what you have to do

I don't think you would hurt yourself, but why not let someone else do it! Enjoy this while you can!
