Can I use DH's cell phone upgrade?
DH is due for an upgrade (Verizon) and he has an old, very basic phone. I reminded him of his upgrade last night and he didn't care so I said if he wasn't going to use it, I would and go back to a basic phone from my Droid and save $30 a month for internet charges that I don't use. I'm not due for an upgrade for another year or so. Can I take his??

Absolutely. The only thing you may need to do is get a new SIM card. I know I couldn't have taken my SIM card from my old Samsung phone and used it in my iPhone. I'm not sure, but there might be a charge for a new SIM card.

I had this same question. They said I could take his upgrade on his phone number (which would extend his contract two years) and then use the phone on my number (not sure if you had to first activate on his and then switch). So your DH has to have a contract for two more years - doesn't matter what phone it is.

You definitely can. DH and I have a family plan with my mother and her BF and we take their upgrades constantly.

I did. I called and upgraded a second line we had to an iPhone. When I got the phone, I activated it on the line that was due the upgrade. Then I went to the store and the gave me new sim cards for both to put the new phone on my line and return the old phone to the upgraded line.
Then the girl had to back out the extra data plan.
