That must be horrible. I hope you feel better soon. For some reason family can be the least understanding sometimes.

Re: Can I vent? ( long, sorry)

I know what you're going through. My m/s was bad, not as severe as yours, but I'm 23 weeks and just got sick this morning. Kinda hoped I'd be over it by now... Chat Icon

But I know exactly where you're coming from with regard to just wanting to ENJOY a pregnancy. I look at all the girls who are due around the same time I am, and most of them are feeling really good. But because I have a ruptured disc in my back which can't be taken care of until AFTER I deliver, I am in CONSTANT, 24 hour pain that is so awful that I can't sleep for more than 2 hours at night.

I know it's a bit of a different situation, but I just wanted you to know that I totally and completely understand where you're coming from. Chat Icon

Jeeze - Even if people can't relate, you'd think they'd be understanding !! Chat Icon
Sorry you're feeling so awful .......!!
I guess that those anti nausea meds don't work for you either?

I don't blame you for being upset and frustrated and just 'over it' - And yes, no one wants to listen to a complainer, but it's not like you're b*tching that your feet are swollen or something !!!

I'm sure most people in you position wouldn't last 10 minutes !! Chat Icon

Vent away !!!!

i totally understand what you are going through and i feel like no one gets it unless it is happening to them. i always feel like i am complaining or putting people out when i have to ask for help with DD b/c i am so sick.

it totally sucks and after having 2 losses myself also i dont want people to think that i am ungreatful or that i dont know what a blessing it is to be having a healthy pregnancy b/c i do.

i feel the same way and WISH i could at least have a break for a day without being violently sick.

you would think given our histories we could at least be given a break in the sickness department!!!!! Chat Icon

keep venting b/c if anyone understands it your fellow preggo LIF'ers.

If you made it this far, thanks for listening...and I DO understand many have it a trillion times worse then me. I dont for a second forget that. Just needed a pity party for a second maybe.

Honey, it sounds like you have it pretty bad yourself. Chat Icon I cannot even imagine what you are going thru. Chat Icon Chat Icon Take solace in the fact that the pump should help you and that this pregnancy will end at some point... and with a beautiful bundle of joy. That would be the only thing keeping me going if I were you!! Try to hang on. I'm praying for ya!! You can vent all you want to me via FM if you need to! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Can I vent? ( long, sorry)

OMG that sounds horrible and severe Chat Icon so you can't even eat the bland basics like plain pasta, toast, and crackers? ugh... I don't know how you're managing......

your extended family just doesn't understand... I've noticed that while many have been pregnant in the past, they don't remember the issues involved and simply lack empathy and brush stuff off. I have no idea why, but they simply do. I know they mean well, but I suspect they think we're just whining about subtle stuff. they don't get how severe some things can get.

(case in point: my shower was this weekend at 35 weeks. I mentioned that I'm worried about my stamina at that late date and what they were catering becuase of my GD. I was told to suck it up for one day, fake the energy and just eat what I was served. I ended up exhausting myself, not being able to leave the couch / bed for over 24 hours afterwards, and felt very weak becuase I couldn't eat virtually anything that they served becuase it was WAY too salty and carby for my swelling and GD. Now I have SEVERE swelling that won't go away.)

I know you dred the i.v. medication, but it sounds like it's impossible for you to survive without it (especially with the protein in the urine and dehydration). Everyone has pregnancy issues, and many people endure something severe (like bedrest, severe m/s, preeclampsia) Don't feel bad that you don't get to enjoy a care-free pregnancy... many many moms-to-be are in the same boat as you, unfortunately. That really sucks. PG should not interfere that much with just living, I am so sorry. My BF has the same issues as you and it is heartbreaking. Her second was not as bad as her first though and her third so far has been really mild so hopefully this one won't be as bad on you. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I was thinking this as well. And it is still so early maybe you will be able to come off it.

I do understand though about wanting/needing help and not getting it. I felt the same way with G in the very beginning of this PG b/c of the m/s and the exhaustion, I could barely pick him up. It sucks to think that no one cares enough to helpChat Icon

Re: Can I vent? ( long, sorry)

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I had MS the 1st 15 weeks and I remember thinking how do woman do this with little ones. Everything would make me sick. I feel like you need to be super woman, it's so difficult with the gagging and just being miserable constantly. I give you SO much credit for being in the condition you are and taking care of your son. If people have never gone through it they have no clue in the world and it really is so frustrating, if they could only feel like you feel for one day even 10 seconds, then they would never throw out excuses like they have to go food shopping etc. I am so sorry you have to go through this again, you are not alone, so many of us can relate to how you feel Chat Icon

Chat Icon Chat Icon I am so sorry you are going through this againChat Icon being that i had HORRIBLE m/s too with my DS and was sick the whole 9 months also, i can so relate and feel so bad for youChat Icon Chat Icon i really think no one can really understand it unless they go through it (they cant even imagine what its like to have formed a permanent bond with your toilet bowl and couch or to be 40 weeks pregnant and still throwing up while you can barely reach the bowl b/c your stomachs so big).
Please hang in there, i know its easier said then done. Hopefully it will ease up for you. This is such a fear of mine when i get pregnant again, to have it bad again and to now have a child to take care of.
I am sorry your family is not being more helpful, you would think they would understand from last timeChat Icon if i lived closer to you i would totally help outChat Icon continue to vent away as thats what these girls are here forChat Icon Chat Icon

I am so sorry that you are going through this. It stinks that your family doesn't get it. Just try thinking it will end it will end I will feel normal again. It helped me. I had different issues and that little mantra got me through. Hope it gets easier for you.

Re: Can I vent? ( long, sorry)

I'm so sorry your feeling SO sick, my first pregnancy with Julia was HORRIBLE for the first 3 months, I was sick as a dog all day long, I would cry everyday on my couch to my mother asking her why I did this to myself, and then one day I woke up and my m/s was gone, and never came back, it was like a switch.

Hopefully your m/s will pass soon and you will be able to enjoy your pregnancy!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Can I vent? ( long, sorry)

i could have written this post almost exactly. the room isn't spinning but my reflux is severe and i think i may be eroding my esophogus again.Chat Icon i know how bad it is and i'm also having the exact problem with feeding my dc (a month older than yours). every day is a battle. i wish i could give you good advice but i'm loosing myself. i wear a surgical mask when i have to prepare my dc's meals and feed. the very thought of food makes me ill . i know this is bad but i let myself throw up before each one of my dc's meals. i've only been serving things that are easiest on me. yogurt, breads and fruit seems to be the easiest right now.

i'm so sorry you are going through this and i wish you had more support. i hope it gets better asap and you get to enjoy this pg, you so deserve it. Chat Icon

Oh, Donna I'm so sorry. I'm fortunate that I didn't suffer very much with morning sickness but I remember how awful you felt with Noah. I was really hoping it wouldn't happen to you a second time. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I am so sorry you are going through this and some of your family members are not being understanding. I know it must not be easy going through this now that you have a child to tend to. I was very nauseous and smells made me very sick for about 4-5 months with this pregnancy, but it sounds like what you're going through is much worse. Oh Donna....I was hoping this pregnancy would be different for you! Chat Icon I am so sorry that you are not getting the support you need! And yes, I would be pis sed off at my mother for rolling her eyes. I pray that it won't be as extreme as your last pregnancy!
