Can I wear white to a bridal shower?
I dont think there's any rule. I would wear a white top if I wore pants but since I always wear a dress to showers I prob wouldnt wear an all white dress. I would just feel weird

and that is why i  at most women..
i can just imagine people in the corner whispering and pointing fingers 
to the OP - you asked your friend to cover your bases so you should feel comfortable wearing what you want

I would never have even thought it was a problem, I didn't wear white to my own bridal shower and most girls I know didn't wear white to their own bridal showers so I say go for it

I just had a close friends bridal shower and I wore a white sun dress. I asked everyone under the sun if it was appropriate or not and they all said yes. I never thought to ask my friend who's shower it was b/c I have never seem her in white. Guess what she wore to the shower  not just a white dress, but a white wedding dress. When she saw me, she made a comment about me wearing white. Let's just say I will never wear white to another shower again!

To answer OP's question, I would not. However, I would not care if a guest wore a white dress to my shower.

Yes she did LOL We were all a little shocked b/c none of us new anyone who did that and she really the least likely to. The only thing I could think of is she was the last one of all her friends to be getting married so maybe she was really embracing it

I never wear white to any wedding-related events (shower, bachelorette party, or wedding). White is reserved for the bride.

Is it different if you wear a white dress with a colored cardigan or jacket over it?
I don't know if I'd do JUST white - but only because I know people get bent over it
