Can It Be A False Positive?
I used the first response pregnancy test this morning, 1 day before my period, and immediately saw the 2 lines (pregnant).
How likely is it that I may not be pregnant?
I'm excited yet worried about the same time 'cus I'm not sure if I tested correctly. The result showed up within seconds!
The test instructions stated that the stick should be immersed in urine for only 5 seconds only and I wasn't timing it. It could have been 7-10 seconds.
Does this really matter? I'm scheduled to see the doctor mid-May but am not sure if I can wait that long! The suspense is killling me!

I really dont think it matters how long it is submerged, if you dont have the hormone it wouldnt have come up positive.....Congrats

I used the same test and it also came up instantly...even in the dr office! Congrats you have your BFP!!!!!!

Thanks guys, I took another test with Clear Blue Easy and once again it shows 'pregnant' ....
I guess 2/2 can't be wrong. Will have to let the hubby know tonight.

sounds like a BFP to me.. if you did wrong i think most likely you would get a negative not a POSITIVE!!! CONGRATULATIONS !!!

It doesn't matter how many seconds - I think that matters more for a false negative - they say that a test never gives a false positive - so congrats!!!

Having gotten either a false positive, or having a chemical last month-- I did a lot of research on this.
False positives are extremely rare. However, they are more common with blue ink +/- tests. I believe FRER are pink, and have the double lines. So, even more rare to happen.
I completely understand why you would not want to believe one test-- as I did the same. If I got carried away with it, I would have ended up disappointed.
Sounds like you are pg, especially with the digital to confirm it! Congrats!
