Could be lots of things..

I used to work in property mgmt and the #1 reason besides lack of cleanliness that ants come in is because around your foundation and the ground around it must be very wet due to the all the rain, and when it gets very wet like that the ants come in through the tiny cracks to get away from it. Ants don't like mud/wet soil.

You can either put traps outside or spray foundation and move any soil/mulch/etc away from foundation.

In your kitchen don't leave anything out, no sweets, baked goods, clean up crumbs immediately, don't leave anything in the sink, no standing water.

Don't spray and use traps though..they counteract each other. The spray makes the traps less attractive to the ants..either or-that's at least what my exterminator told me. And if you use the traps you'll see alot more of them for a little while, then they'll disappear, but don't spray them when you see them.

I do to. It started a few days ago. It is the really small ones. I know where they are coming from but I am hesitant to spray anything. It is sooo annoying. I was told it was from the weather being so wet and humid the other day.

We have them now too and I'm in NC! It's soooo gross! We get them the same time every year.

Use the Terro traps. Ants will be gone in days.
