Can someone pls review this dispute letter?
I'm writing a dispute letter for my husband for services that were never rendered at a hospital back in 2002.
The jist of the story is written in the letter. Can someone please review this & let me know your opinions??
ETA: This is from a collection agency. I hate those people.
Thanks.
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter in regard to the above mentioned account. I hearby refuse to pay the amount due because the services that XXXX hospital claimed to have provided for me was never rendered. Back in 2002, I requested emergency services from the hospital for a finger that I cut & needed stitches for. After checking in with the hospital triage, I waited in the emergency room for over two hours. I then decided to leave & seek services at another nearby hospital.
I have no records of XXXX Hospital providing emergency services for me. I have no emergency room bills, or no insurance statements backing this claim up. In fact, this incident occurred back in 2002, and the letter for your company is the first time I received any type of correspondence from XXXX Hospital regarding this claim.
Okay--- so I am stuck at this point.
I need your opinions!!
Thanks a million!

Triage or check-in? They take your info, temperature, heartbeat and blood pressure. I think its called Triage at North Shore.

Re: Can someone pls review this dispute letter?
To Whom It May Concern:
I refuse to pay the amount listed above because the services for this charge were never rendered at XXXX hospital on XXXX date.
In 2002, I requested emergency services for a cut on my finger that required stitches. After checking in at the Emergency Room, I waited for over two hours. At this point, I left and went to another hospital for treatment. I was never called, and never saw a doctor.
I have no record of XXXX Hospital providing emergency services for me. I never received an emergency room bill or insurance statement regarding this claim because, as I stated already, I never received any medical treatment at XXXX Hospital on XXX Date. In fact, this incident occurred in 2002, but your letter, date XXX, is the first time I have received any correspondence regarding this claim.
Since services were never rendered, no payment can possibly be due. As such, I request that you update your records to accurately reflect that no money is due and inform me that this has been done, in writing, at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely, XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Re: Can someone pls review this dispute letter?
You're welcome!
Good luck!
I've heard horror stories about medical billing. I hope you can get them to realize that it's their mistake!
