I was thinking the same thing.
I agree. I was BORED TO TEARS last season, this season has a better pace and stories. So far, I am enjoying it more than I normally do.

i loved this week's episode! first time i cried in awhile. i love how they're handling Malek and Deja. the similarity between the 2 dinners. I don't think it's realistic tho for a 14 year old to be so wise, but i guess she has gone through a lot. by the end i didn't even realize that kevin and kate weren't in this episode.

I love this show
I cried when Nicky was crying and also giving the speech about the shrimp.
I am so curious as to why Randall and Kevin aren't talking and they are celebrating this big 4-0 apart. also who is his pregnant girlfriend/fiance/wife?
The mandy moore storyline kind of makes me sick honestly. it scares me. I was wondering though if maybe randall keeps this secret from the others and thats why they dont talk now because he harbors resentment over his moms issue??

I thought that too. He didn’t tell anyone and now it’s a bigger problem etc
It also scares me. Especially when Alzheimer’s runs in my family. Both sides. I’m forgetful now at 42 and I start to panic about it. But ... it’ll be what it’ll be
I really love this show. And waiting until January to find out who his fiancé is makes me nuts!

That's exactly what I was thinking. My co-worker thought that meant Rebecca ALSO wasn't speaking to Randall but I didn't take it that way at all.
I loved it. This season is totally back on track for me.

This season has been soooooo good.
Rebecca with the Alzheimer's is freaking me out too. I never thought about how awful that is and that was terrible.
I can't wait to find out who Kevin is engaged to. Will it be Sophie? Will it be the girl from this season? Will it be Zoey (I hope not)?
I will be so sad if Toby and Kate don't make it.
Beth had me cracking up the last two episodes. Love her attitude.

I'm going through this with my parents. One was too far gone for anything to help, but the other was diagnosed fairly early. The doctor said that there are other things that help beside medicine, like physical exercise and mental exercise (reading, puzzles). Even taking a different route to work helps because it keeps your brain thinking. (Have you ever arrived at work and not remember how you got there?)

I have to say I did not love last night's episode. Kevin totally came off as creepy. A bit much and over the top with spending 5 mins with a girl and making that insane date only to find out he's her "hall pass."
I kept thinking that is totally her husband. I could never text my husband and be like... my hall pass is here is it ok, and he answers sure, go for it! 
Can't stand Kate. SHe makes that face all the time to Toby.
The end was good. See where it goes. I didn't know Jack and Rebecca broke up for about an hour. He didn't seem to be so torn up about it.

ACTUALLY --- you might be right... apparently it not being real is a big theory. i took it at face value lol....

Considering the fact that This Is Us showrunners have said that season 4 has Randall delving deeper into his mental health and anxiety issues, the theory definitely seems plausible — and some viewers even think that among the new characters and guest stars for the current season, Pamela Adlon will play a big part in Randall's mental health storyline, perhaps even playing his therapist in the upcoming episode.
Randall's Sterling K. Brown even teased that the character's storyline will go a little "sideways," confirming that Randall's anxiety will be a big focus for the rest of This Is Us season 4.

I had not yet started this winter season. Saturday night, DH and I had both gone out separately. I came home with my sleeping children to a pitch black house and he never activated my alarm system when he left. I can be a bit of a scaredy cat in those situations. So of course I'm all in my head, freaking myself out about every sound I'm hearing in the house. I tell myself I need to chill the F out. I had put the kids to bed and I'm just sitting in my silent house...listening. LOL I decide to stop being a lunatic and distract myself with TV. I look at my DVR. Oh look! This is us! Perfect, wholesome show to distract me! Which it did. Until the last 3 seconds when I almost shat myself. Then all bets were off and I had to chug a glass of wine.

Love that Kevin built his dad’s dream cabin. So originally I thought Kevin and Kate weren’t speaking to Randall because he was hiding Rebecca’s diagnosis? But that’s not the case now? Wonder why? And I thought Kevin looked really good older (like a George Clooney type).
I also love some of the 90s references. When Kate calls Randall Encyclopedia Brown . That was one of my favorite books as a kid!
