Can we talk naps and 2 year olds
DD is just 2.2yrs old.. She has been giving me a hard time about naps this week.. Somedays she goes and others she hasnt. I have always been a nap freak.. I revolve my world around her naps.. She goes to camp 5 days 9-12noon. I was giving her lunch then a nap, Sometimes 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 hrs. How could she go from konking out to noo nap in one day? What are your nap schedules and what time is bed time too.. I get her in between 8-845 . when she skips the nap she goes to bet around 7-7:30.. need some feed back on where I am at here.. TIA

Re: Can we talk naps and 2 year olds
DD#1 just recently gave up naps at 3.5yo. Up until then she would wake up around 7:30am, would nap from 1-3pm or so, and go to bed 8:30/9.

Re: Can we talk naps and 2 year olds
DS is 2 yrs 9 months and just these past 2 weeks has been on a nap strike. He is not ready to give up his nap, he is exhausted by 5pm and wants to nap then. I also have a 10 month old so this has a lot to do with why he doesn't want to nap anymore. Today I got him to nap finally. He wakes 7am and goes to nap after lunch around 2pm and can nap up to 2 hrs. On days he naps he goes to bed by 9, on days with no nap in bed at 7pm. Good luck!

Re: Can we talk naps and 2 year olds
DS turned 3 in June. He's been giving me a problem napping. He would sleep 2+ hours and I can't imagine he could go from that to no nap at all. Plus, it's my sanity! I don't care, he doesn't know, but he's napping until he's 4! I just bribe him and tell him if naps and doesn't cry, we'll do something fun when he wakes up.

Re: Can we talk naps and 2 year olds
DS is now 2 1/2, but he has had the same schedule for almost a year. He wakes between 7 and 7:30, and naps starting around 12:30 or 1 (although I'm flexible given the summer schedule. There are days his nap started as early as 11 or as late as 2). His naps are anywhere from 2 - 3 1/2 hours. They used to be consistently 3 1/2 hours. He goes to bed around 8:30 but some nights it has been later this summer.
At 2 years, 1.5 months, DS decided to go on a nap strike. I would make him stay in his crib, but he would play, talk, anything but sleep. I would make him stay in there for "rest time," but he would not go to sleep. I considered just giving up, but I let this go on for 2 weeks (at least), putting him down at the same time. One day, he fell asleep, and hasn't missed a nap since. Don't give up!

Re: Can we talk naps and 2 year olds
DS went on a nap strike for 1mth (I later realized it was b/c he was pulling all the stuffing out of his pillow) at around 2 1/2. He is now a little over 3 and still naps. I just stuck with the sched. Put him in bed, if he napped great..if not..it was still quiet time. (My DD is 18mths and naps at the same time).
His sched. is up at 8:15, nap at 1:30-3:30, bed at 8:30

Re: Can we talk naps and 2 year olds
At 22 months DS has been giving me grief come naptime (and bedtime). His typical schedule is up at 6:30ish, nap at noon for about 1 1/2 hours, then bedtime at 7 sharp.
I have not caved. He cries a little when I put him in the crib for a nap or at night but within 5 minutes he's sleeping.
