Re: Can you drive a manual transmission?

No! I have had a few men in my life say they were going to teach me. And they never did. My husband attempted to teach me in Ireland. But, he has no patience and being on the opposite of the road. It didn't end friendly Chat Icon

I always said I was going to call a driving school & see if they can teach me. Only because in Ireland that's pretty much all they drive. And it's more money to rent a automatic.

Yes, I used to raceChat Icon

I stopped driving a stick when I began driving trucks. The clutch is like a 40 lb clutch in the manual version of my truck.

Re: Can you drive a manual transmission?

I have driven a few different cars with a stick. If I was in a pinch I wouldn't have a problem. I am not the best driver with a manual though.

Re: Can you drive a manual transmission?

yes, I learned years ago on a 1990 mustang GT I bought at an auction. NOT a good car to learn on. I'm good now though, I can even powershift. My cars always were manual after the mustang until the car I've had for the last 6 years.
I'm looking at getting a new car now, if I don't get a hybrid I'll get another stick.

Re: Can you drive a manual transmission?

I've had a few lessons, but never mastered this.

If I tried again, I'd pay the car owner, in advance, for a burned-out clutch or whatever damage I would cause!

Re: Can you drive a manual transmission?

i can drive it... just not comfortably! I'm still learning, so it takes a lot of thought for me so I don't feel comfortable driving alone...

my car is auto, DH's is manual
