Can you eat sushi when bfing?
Its the one thing I miss while being pregnant! I was thinking its the first thing I want after I have the baby... then I though about bfing... is it safe then??

I was told it was not safe to eat while BF. I was very upset about this but oh well.

I asked my doctor and he said it was perfectly fine. Hubby already has my order for my first night in the hospital!

I ate it while nursing. I couldn't eat too spicy and or sauce. Made the baby upset.

As long as you continue to avoid the high mercury fish I think sushi would be as safe as it is for anyone. (You could still get a stomach bug, but it shouldn't transfer to baby like when you are pregnant!)

I miss my sushi too!
But I did also hear that you should avoid it because of it not being prepared right and passing that onto the baby.
"Eat foods that have been properly prepared to minimize exposure to either you or your baby to disease-causing organisms. This applies to sushi - make sure that the sushi you eat is fresh and prepared by a reputable sushi chef."
