Can You Help Me Pick A Futon Frame? (Long with pics)
Sooooo...orginally the plan was to get a sectional for our den and move our leather sofa and chair down to the basement (future playroom).
We decided to not spend so much now since the sectional I really want is $$$$ and get a nice futon for the basement instead since we already have the mattress.
Right now, nothing is done in the basement, all we have is the Entertainment Center which is modern. I really want to avoid the Mission styled frames.
Here's a pic of the entertainment center:
Here's the basement with the previous owners stuff in it. I am keeping the wall color. It's a light grayish blue.
They had A LOT of stuff!!
Here are some futons I saw....what do you think? Any other suggestions? After this, the hunt for a cool cover will start I'm not in love with any of them, but honestly I don't think I'll find one that I love so I'll just have to settle with ok.
#1 (just the futon frame - not the tables)
#2 I think this one is too traditional, but I like the drawers
#3
#4
#5

#1...I think it matches the entertainment center and wall color best

I agree #1 matches the Entertainment Console.

We are going through the EXACT same thing...I went crazy looking for furniture for my living room (a leather sectional) and didn't find anything I love, so I am just looking for cheap furniture for the playroom because eventually what is in my living room will be down there.
I also want something where guests can sleep on, or we can relax on with the kids while watching a movie...even though I am not truly loving number 1 and 2 that I posted, they seem comfortable...I like how the arms are cushioned....they also recline, or turn into a bed, and they have storage (Im not sure where the storage is, and I will find out because I hate hiding places for kids)
Also, I like the set up of #3, with the table attached. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Can You Help Me Pick A Futon Frame? (Long with pics)
as you stated, i don't LOVE any of them either. of the ones posted, i like the frame style of #2 and #3 the best. i know the consensus is for #1 but you and i both know it really isn't your style. a slipcover would definitely change the look but not sure if it would be enough for you to REALLY like it.
how much are you interested in spending? i know you stated you already have the mattress and not sure of the quality but here are a few nicer (IMO) ones from target that really wouldn't need to be slip-covered. all are 15% off.
boston convertible - chocolate is not available but the cream would work well. might be too light though.
portland convertible - $529
elita - $489
Providence - $599
Austin - $499
Lola - $679
Bycast and Microfiber - $799
