Can you help me pick a wall color that goes with this rug??
It's from PB and it's for our DR. My chairs will be tan/mushroom color upholstered.

The pic isn't posting. It's too big and resized it's just too small!
I have a dark dining table, tan upholstered chairs that are coming in next week and a large beveled mirror that matches the table. White picture frame moulding is on the bottom of the walls.

I actually think I like the blue/grey color in there. There isn't a lot of it in the rug but I think since the chairs are a mushroomy tan a blue with a grey undertone would look nice.

I would personally go with something close to the lighter "adobe" color I see in the flower. I personally don't like greens in DR's, and if you have tan/mushroom chairs, I wouldn't go with that on the walls, might look to "boring" b/c there is a lot of tan in the rug (or so it looks)

Benjamin Moore Audubon Russet if you like deeper colors
BM Roxbury caramel is a rich color that would look awesome
BM Putman ivory if you want to keep it light.

I would stay away from any tan colors since there is a lot of it in the rug and in your DR set.
I'd go with either a nice light blue or light green. Go get some samples and hold them against the rug to see what goes best.

I think a light blue would look beautiful with that rug.
Those are great colors to go with the rug. With your dark furniture, and the walls lighter, it would look very classic with this rug bringing it all together. Just beautiful!

I agree! I also do not think blue would look good at all.....
In addition to the above colors, BM Dry Sage is a nice green color.

Thanks everyone!!! I'm headed to the paint store when DH gets home! I love the Audobon Russet color and I have to check out the caramel one. I'm torn with the blues so I guess I should wait. Pottery Barn offers rug samples now so maybe I should order one to bring with me. Thanks again!

I would go with a sage Green or a light tan or gold color.
IMO I don't like the blue with that rug.

Thank you - that was the exact look I was trying to tell her about.
Adiago is a GORGEOUS color on the walls. A girlfriend of mine has it on her walls in her LR and its gorgeous.

She posted awhile back a pic of her living room.......it's amazing and I tell her all the time LOL. She has it on her walls and its stunning.

I love adiago & I love Colleen's room but i think the colors in that rug are very warm & adiago on the walls with so much white might look too "cool". IMO tones are really important.

I think Kelly is right, Audubon Russet is a great color to go with that flower in the rug. And in the pic, the rug that is there has a rust color to it with the dark furniture.

you're so good at whipping those color things up Jen! I love the way that looks, its the beauty of a reddish dining room without being dark!
