can you over feed a baby?
I posted last week how Allison eats A LOT.She was 10lbs at birth and im sure is over that by now.She has a 4 oz bm bottle very 3-4 hours and sometimes she is screaming for more so we start a new bottle with no intention of giving it all to her and she drinks maybe 1- 1 1/2 more oz and usually passes out. Is this ok? Can you overfeed them or will they stop when they are full?
somtimes she is fine with the 4 and sometimes she takes 3oz, but thats rare.

Re: can you over feed a baby?
My ped said you can't overfeed a baby. If she's hungry, you have to feed her or she will be miserable.
How much is she drinking in a day?

Re: can you over feed a baby?
well i have to really write it down b/c it varies at each feeding but she eats anywhere from 6-8 times a a day and eats as little as 3 as much as 5 1/2 oz at a time so maybe 25oz roughly she is three weeks!

You can overfeed a baby but they'll spit up A LOT if you do. This is how I learned I was overfeeding Joseph. Everytime he cried if he wasn't wet, I was mistaking those cries for hunger.

Nate was a 10lb baby also and he was like that also. I would always just put 3-4oz in the bottle and if he wanted more I'd give him another ounce or two. I hated seeing the formula go to waste.

Same here....just to add also--as long as the baby isn't spitting up a lot, then I think it is safe to assume you are not overfeeding.
