Can You Please Say a Prayer For My Grandmother *UPDATE* 8-11-08
91 Years Old! The strongest, most stubborn woman who I know and LOVE to pieces!
My mother just called from the Dr.s office. Gram has been complaining of a lump. She went from Dr. to surgeon to specialist today who confirmed it's a tumor and it seems it is malignant.
I'm just at a loss right now.
Can they treat this on a 91 Year old woman? The specialist is sending her for more testing and scans this afternoon.
I will update later.

You don't know how much I appreciate it! I FIRMLY believe in prayer and thank each of you for taking the time to do so.

UPDATE: There was no testing today. She goes Tues. for a needle biopsy and then next Friday for some other test.
Thank You all for the prayers. Keep them coming.
UPDATE: 6/12/08: She went for her needle biopsy on Tues and she is sore from it. Doctors will discuss her options (chemo, radiation) but we (including Dr.s) are very concerned about her age.
Tomorrow she goes for a PET scan. This scan will tell if the cancer has spread anywhere.
The lump is between her breast and lung. It's inoperable.
Please keep the prayers coming.
Other than feeling sore from the biopsy, she says she feels great.
Thank You again for the prayers everyone and please keep them coming.
UPDATE 6/17: Thank You everyone for your prayers. Thurs. AM my parents go with gram to the Dr. to go over the PET scan results and see what the next steps are. I am strong on the phone with my parents, but, honestly I am scared for Thurs. to come.
I hope and Pray the Dr.s miraculously (sp?) have good news.
TY again. Please keep the prayers coming! I greatly appreciate it more than you know.
UPDATE 6/21: It's Cancer and the cancer has spread. Gram goes for a consultation the beginning of July. Looks like she may be doing Chemo.

Update 7/9/08: Update:
My parents took Gram for her consultation yesterday. They are going to try a medication to see if the lump shrinks. If it does, then, maybe they will try radiation to shrink it some more.
She is 91.
They don't want to do chemo. They don't want her to get sick.
The lump is inoperable.
Now, because Gram has been walking more slowly (and dragging her feet) for quite a while, the dr. wants her to have a brain scan, to make sure the cancer didn't spread to the brain. (Honestly, I feel she's been walking like this way before the lump even appeared) but the Dr.s want to do this as a precaution.
Please continue the prayers. They are greatly appreciated.

UPDATE 7-25-08: Gram had a Dr. appointment this past Monday and the Meds are Working
The tumor has not grown. The meds are helping stopping it from growing.
I was so thrilled to hear this.
Long way to go and hopefully she'll keep fighting. Gram is A Tough cookie!

UPDATE: We really can use prayers..The meds are making her sick. Cannot keep anything down. Dr. put her in hospital to get on IVs.
I saw her tonight and she doesn't look like Gram.
My heart is breaking!

UPDATE 8-11-08:
Gram was transported from hospital to rehab and she looks GREAT.
She had a blood transfusion last week in the hospital and there is a big difference.
Rehab is going to help her get off her tushy and get walking.
When rehab is complete, my parents want her home with the help of a nurse or aide coming in daily to help with things.
Saw her yesterday and could NOT believe this was the same woman that my dad and uncle literally carried out of the house in the wheelchair a week ago.
Cancer is still there.
She's off the meds for now and will most likely go back a low dosage.
Of course I do THANK YOU ALL for your hugs and prayers.
If you could, please keep them coming! They are appreciated more then you'd ever know!
