Can you put desitin or triple paste on a newborn?
DS, who is 2 weeks old...has a horrible raised rash right on the waist line of his diaper. Can I put anything on it other than vaseline? It looks painful

DS is almost 3 months, and I have been using balmex and triple paste since almost the beginning. If the rash is very bad though, I would call your ped. He may be able to prescribe something stronger.

Thanks. How soon after did you give him a real bath? He was circumsizded 2 weeks ago this coming Tuesday. Do you think it's healed where I can give him a real bath now?

I used Desitin on K when she was a NB... she got a terrible diaper rash - I felt like such a bad mommy......
But the desitin cleared it up in a day!

Thanks. How soon after did you give him a real bath? He was circumsizded 2 weeks ago this coming Tuesday. Do you think it's healed where I can give him a real bath now?
I gave DS a real bath as soon as his cord stump fell off- he was 9 days old. He was circumsized also, and it was fine. My ped. said as long as the stump was gone, going into the baby bathtub was fine.

I find that airing out works THE BEST on any type of rash.

If it is on the waistline of his diaper maybe he is having a reaction to the diapers. Hope it clears up soon.
