can you re-key a car?
if so, how difficult is it and how much does it cost? (average)
i'm not sure if the ex still has a set (key/alarm fob) to my car, and i'm feeling a little uneasy about it.

Yes you can re-key a car. I had to when my purse/keys were stolen. I dont remember how much it was since it was several years ago. I dont think it was that much. Call a locksmith and see how much they are.

Re: can you re-key a car?
The cost will depend on the year/make of the car, and if the key is computerized.
ETA: You can get the alarm code re-programmed too, usually without changing the alarm itself.
