you can use any lender, but i would start with your current because they may offer you a better deal. i remember we had no closing costs when we refinanced with our current lender.

This. Our lender didn't want to lose us as a customer, they waived closing costs and paid for the re-appraisal of our house.

Your mortgage recording fee won't have to be paid again when yuo stay with the same lender.

I recommend getting various quotes. I did and its amazing what the different brokers/companies charge you for or how they tried to disguise certain things. Definitely compare!

i would start with your current lender, but then shop around. an outsider broker paid for certain things that i wouldn't have been charged if i stayed with my bank. but the rate was better to leave.
