Can you share some finger food/table food suggestions?
and how do you incorporate them? How much do you give?
Do you just give only finger/table foods or do you give some finger/table foods along with their familar food (baby food)?
I want DS to adventure out, but on the other hand I'm a little scared--coking, but I don't want to "baby" him.
He's had cheerios, Gerber puffs, cut up pasta.
TIA

Ds has been eatin everything since about 9 months. Ans he didn't get his first teeth until a month later. At a year he still only has 2 teeth but eats everything even steak. Just cut things up small and ds will use his gums to mash the food up. Only time we have choking is his he shovels too much in too fast.

In the beginning I used the rule that if I can easily mash it between my fingers she can mash with her gums. Ripe avacado, very soft cooked carrots, egg yolk, american cheese, banana, soft cooked sweet potato were all good for this. I cut the food up in tiny pieces and gave it to her that way.
Within a few days I started giving her cut up chicken and basically everything we ate cut up small. Prepare for a mess. I had to get DD one of those full body type bibs to keep her from completely destroying her clothes.

that's the thing...DH is a picky eater -- he could live on pasta and chicken cutlets alone and so to make my life easy, instead of make 2 dinners, I've just made what ever DH likes--which is not much......I know its my fault

How do you perpare your food? Do you use the same amount of spices or do you cut it out/less? Or do you make two batches, one for the adults and one for child?

be careful with that b/c i have seen it plenty, my cousin is one of them - his diet is guarded b/c he his parents don't eat a wide menu of foods, so when he comes over here with his grandmother (my aunt) and he is VERY limited with what he will eat.

Kristina's ped told me to make her what I eat b/c if you think about it.... people in africa and india are for def making their foods with curries and such, and i'm sure that they aren't keeping the spices from their foods.

that's why I don't want DS to be like DH in that part.

then honestly i would just start feeding him EVERYTHING! Kristina eats so much it's ridiculous! I am very proud of it....
She has had venison, lamb, fish, beef, turkey, chicken, greek food, spanish food, chinese food... She eats all veggies, and all fruits so far (she's not crazy on tart fruits tho lol).
And keep in mind that it can take up 20 times of a child trying something before they like it.... Kristina actually turned her face at broccoli (which I was hoping that she would like b/c it's so high in vitamins - i NEVER liked it and still can't do the trees - i can eat a couple of stalks and that's it), and I tried it a couple more times, and now she chows down!
