Oh, good thread!! I am completely clueless about this too! We got matching valances with our bedding set, but I don't even have blinds up now, don't know what to put up!

They're a linen type material. They've always been in that room. Since they went so well, we're not going to change them. We might install black out shades because that room gets LOTs of sun. Image Attachment(s):

We put up a bamboo shade with a blackout liner and a balloon valance on top of it to soften it a bit...
