Can you tell me any good non-monetary benefits for employees??
What types of non-monetary benefits does your company - or any of your previous employers - offer that you love?
Or are there any good non-monetary benefits you have heard of at other companies that you would like to have?
The only ones I can come up with are: - Flex time - Leaving early 1day per week - Extra paid vacation time - Free lunch for employees (everyday or on limited days)
I'm having trouble coming up with more. Thanks!

Re: Can you tell me any good non-monetary benefits for employees??
I have: unlimited sick days compensation for dinner when working past a certain time (7 or 8pm) - I don't have to pay out of pocket either; I just order through seamless web car service home if I work past 9pm
DH also gets a portion of his commute paid for by the company. He also has half day Fridays all through Daylights Savings time. His company is also paying for his masters degree.
One law firm I know provides breakfast every morning.

DH's company provides breakfast and lunch every day. But they are expected to stay on the desk for the whole day.
Buying company products for cost.

I have the ability to work from home with my job, and can more or less set up my schedule around when I need to see my clients.

Thanks everyone!
Some of the ones above (car service after 8pm and free dinner after 7pm) are already in effect - I need to come up with new ideas so thanks!!!
If anyone has any other ideas, that would be great.

Through DHs firehouse we get free gym memberships, movie tickets for $1, and discounts at various places. My job gives us tuition reimbursement among some other benefits but I think those are more monetary.

Re: Can you tell me any good non-monetary benefits for employees??
I'm looking at the above & am calculating how much it costs the company so most while non-monetary, actually do cost.
Many businesses will give discounts to companies - for example Tiffany & Co gives 15% off a business account. Our employees can use it for the discount but need to pay for the items themselves.
I know a lot of family friendly places do the same (Sesame Place, etc.)
We also go through Working Advantage & can get discounts on Broadway shows, movie theater, etc.
Other things that cost in terms of administration of the plan are Flexible Spending Program Transit Check (which allows employees to deduct their commute with pre-tax dollars)

Re: Can you tell me any good non-monetary benefits for employees??
We also get reimbursed for mileage/ client-related business spending. I think this is pretty common everywhere, but I have heard of a few agencies that don't!
Sometimes it works out where you MAKE $$$ on this ;).

Re: Can you tell me any good non-monetary benefits for employees??
From previous jobs:
- Day off on your birthday - Wearing Jeans on last day of the month - Month end goodies (breakfast and snacks) - tuition assistance - cholesterole/blood check on "health day" - blood drive at work - Summer picnic for the whole company - End of Summer BBQ (in parking lot) - Paid time off sabbatical program (10 weeks off) after a certain number of years worked. - Random "raffles and prices" for employees. On certain days (Valentines Day, Halloween, etc.), employees have a bake sale, purchase raffles, etc... A portion is donated to charity. Then there is price for 1 winner (Flat screen TV, DVD player, spa, 1 night at Hotel, airline tickets, etc..)

Re: Can you tell me any good non-monetary benefits for employees??
My job has season tickets for the Islanders, the Mets. Every week an email will go out with the game dates & times & they are given out on a 1st come basis.
Everyday is casual day (I wear jeans & sneakers almost everyday) except when we will have guests in office, then we have to get dressed.

I didn't think she was asking for ideas that didn't cost the company anything. I thought she was looking at non-monetary compensation, i.e., benefits for the employees other than money (salary, bonus, 401(k) matching, etc.) Maybe I misunderstood.
We get corporate discounts, too. Starwood hotels, Avis, and about 25 or 30 other places. Those don't cost the firm anything. We also get discounted theater tickets.

Re: Can you tell me any good non-monetary benefits for employees??
My company is not competive with salary. But they offer a lot a full line of medical and dental benefits, long term disbability extended life insurance Aflac Flex spending 1/2 day fridays year round close between the christmas and New Years week life insurance discounts on auto, home and life insurance ATM in each buliding 4 wks vacation plus pd holidays 401K Casual Fridays Tutition resiburesemt Seminor and constant trainings to upgrade your skills And most importantly they rarely have layoffs. I think they had one 10 years ago I was told.
I am more about paying paid a competive salary but the idea of a steady job and a good benefits pkg is something to make me rethink how I view things.
